Well, it was primarily his initiative. He made common cause with Kennedy. The bill would have never been brought back up without his initiative. McConnell developed the clay pigeon strategy with Reid and then set back to let other’s lead the GOP opposition in the Senate. Bush sent cabinet secretaries and others to lobby members to vote for the bill. Bush does deserve the lions share of the blame.
I blame Bush completely. As Dukakis once said, "A fish rots from the head down". We have a definite problem with a lack of leadership in our government from the head down.
I remember years ago, everyone had bumper stickers on their cars that said, "THROW THE BUMS OUT!"
I think it's time to revive those stickers.
Your comment made me think, we need to be careful, perhaps all of this “agreement” that was going on between Kennedy and Bush was nothing more then a strategic move on the part of the Hillary’s election campaign, that being to break apart the conservative movement by causing friction in the base, it sounds like something the right out of the strategy book of Hillary’s, sucker in old Bush into thinking he can pass something that would piss off his base, thereby breaking apart the conservative base? Are we going to let them win on this one? This is why Hillary is SO dangerous, she ACTUALLY cooks stuff like this up!! It’s like dealing with PURE EVIL!!! You know what we need? A candidate who actually GETS IT!
