ATLANTA An anonymous blogger claimed Friday to be the person who posted a mysterious addition on the Wikipedia.org site that announced the death of Nancy Benoit to the world at least 13 hours before investigators in Georgia found her body, along with the bodies of her husband and son in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.
The confession said the changes to Chris Benoit's page first reported Thursday by FOXNews.com was coincidental, and were based on rumors and speculation.
The authenticity of the posting could not immediately be confirmed.

I hate quoting Geraldo, but I saw him on FOX last eve and he said there are a lot of weird coincidences (including the death of another woman), and that the investigation is widening at an alarming rate....

The IP address for any change to wikipedia is recorded. That can be tracked down to the ISP and therefore to the original user. The ISP might require a subpeona to turn over the info on who was using that address at the time, but I doubt any judge will wait for even a second to approve the request. Maybe the entry was made at an internet cafe or other common useage area which would make tracking harder, but at least follow those initial steps.

Geraldo is an idiot. Sherri’s death isn’t related to what Chris did. Those coincidences only exist in Geraldo’s mind. He’s just hoping for his next big scoop.

I’m guessing Chris had other things on his mind that night than posting to an internet web site. WIKIPEDIA no less.
The IP was traced to Stamford CT. Apparently he enjoys editing Wiki. A dozen times or so in the last month. I imagine he’s got some ‘splainin’ to do. But most likely he’s just one of those internet wrestling geeks who like to talk about “workrates” & such. This particular story appears to be a whole lotta nothing. Just nonsense to sidetrack the cops from doing their job.
