Massive March in Puerto Rico Protests Plan to Permit Homosexual Civil Unions

SAN JUAN, June 29, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Two weeks ago 20,000 Puerto Ricans took to the streets in the San Juan to protest legislation seeking to permit homosexual civil unions.  Coalicion de la Familia, the island's largest pro-family organization, organized the march and rally and invited US pro-family activist David Parker to speak to the crowd.

In April, 2005, David Parker of Massachusetts was arrested and brought to jail after protesting the refusal of school officials to notify him when homosexuality or transgenderism was to be discused with his son in kindergarten. The incident made national news in America, and the continued refusal of Lexington, MA school officials to allow parental notification has brought on a federal civil rights lawsuit from the Parkers and another family.

The march, rally, and Parker's appearance were covered extensively by all five of Puerto Rico's TV stations, three radio stations, newspapers and other media.

Parker warned the citizens that elevating homosexual behavior to a status equivalent to marriage would bring a flood of homosexual books, lessons, and other indoctrination into the schools - as has happened in Massachusetts.

"You must have zero tolerance for this," said Parker, "or they will be marketing sodomy to your children. No one has to tolerate state officials invading familial privacy, denigrating faith, and dictating their contorted view of 'morality' to impressionable children behind the backs of parents. We will continue defending the innocence of children and our parental rights to guide their upbringing -- as long as it takes."

During the rally on the steps of the Capitol a group of Legislative leaders who had not been previously invited, and who were not known for supporting the pro-family position, spoke to the crowd promising to stop the measure from moving forward.

Good for David Parker, a real man and a real father.

I can’t find a single article, doing a search on the Internet.

Pathetic, that no English-speaking news outlet will cover this story.

To say the news we receive from the media is controlled is putting it mildly.

I read this in my email today. THIS is what the outcry should look like in this country! While we still can, before they institute a hate crimes law against it!

But they will spend an entire summer covering a handful of leftists showing up to keep Cindy Sheehan company in Crawford.
