Nah, the Russian/Soviet security services have a long tradition of passing phony money. In ‘37 or ‘38 Heydrich’s SD passed forged docs to the NKVD implicating Marshal Tukachevsky (sp?) in treason.
The Nazis received a cool half mil or so in forged greenbacks from their Eastern colleagues. Not sure but I think some of it turned up in the hands of the sabotuers landed by u-boat on Long Island during WWII.

See #20.
Most likely he'll take it back to the bank, try to get a refund. Most likely in Russia they confiscate counterfeit money, just like here, so if he's going to get a refund he needs the bill. Otherwise it's, "boo hoo, you lose" time.
Occam’s razor. It doesn’t work 100% of the time, but 99%+ is not too shabby.
Hey cool, I just came up with a new tagline for my rotation.

This is America, you can doubt all you want.
But that doesn’t keep you from being wrong.

Why did they run away?
You ever felt stupid? You ever felt stupid in front of you coworkers? You ever felt stupid in front of your coworkers in a foreign country?

The Russian (mafia) producing counterfeit $100 bills is a huge problem. They are literally everywhere. The US $100 bill is the international counterfeiters denomination of choice.

The cashier used a special pen to mark the bill to test its authenticity. He should have looked into the man's eyes so he could see his soul, and then accepted the money. That's what W would have done.

Got to see one there, up close and personal, as a civilian. Doubt that could happen again in this day and age.

"Hes was probably smart enough to figure out the clerk was testing the money"
Odds are that this Ruskie had never been to a NH State liquor store. And it also stands to figure that he did not see any bills being tested since as a rule only $100's are checked. So, by the time the bill was being tested it was too late and he grabbed the bill and scooted. Believe it or not but it's not incredibly common to see $100's bandied about which they wouldn't know as they no doubt are lead to believe that all Americans are inferior.
"I dont know what they call the agency that handles Presidential security."
If by "They" you mean Americans, we call them the Secret Service. I'm not sure what you guys call yours

I took a one week Air Force Physicological Flight training course (as a civilian contractor) at Pease in 1983. I stayed at the same Holiday Inn as these morons. Several time as day claxons would sound and lights would flash and crews would scramble to the flightline. On one occassion they actually took off. (I’m sure it was just training.) It was just before the KAL 007 incident.
Times were different.

Of course Russians don't know anything about testing money. Why, most Russians don't wear shoes.
Since they secure their president, it's their security team I'm talking about, not ours. Don't see anything ambiguous about using the word they. Your mileage may vary, but that's your problem.
