I’m not sure on what front he’s been a fine President. Size and cost of gov’t driven up with center-left ideas like No Child Left Behind and Prescription Drug Coverage. Significant tactical and strategic errors in executing the war in Iraq. Failure to rally the country with abysmal public speaking skills. Willingness to compromise with Dems again on immigration. Squandered a once-in-a-generation majority building opportunity, lacked the will to build up forces in Iraq to adequate levels to secure the country.

I’m sure I’ll be attacked by many, but it’s time to start dealing with the W legacy. It is not pretty for the party. We have lost our conservative tether on many issues, and he has been a catalyst for much of that. It does no good to whine about the leftist media, H-wood, and other left-wing groups. These exist and will continue to exist. The President’s job is lead the country and vanquish these forces intellectually and politically. To do that in today’s world, one has to be an effective public speaker. W is as bad now, if not worse, than when he started.

Considering the idealogical and political momentum that Reagan left office with, the Bush legacy will be to have reversed the momentum. Those are the facts.

Thanks for your facts, and I hope you had a good pissed-off release there. Now focus on Al Gore being your President, and him blaming the military for Global-Warming, since that is our greatest threat.

Who was your candidate in 2004? O'truthful one, and please feel free to explain! I believe President Bush is a Good man, whom is trying to bring together an overwhelming outcome. That's all.

I agree with everything you said.

W’s legacy: Wasted oppurtunity, avoidable strategic catastrophes, gross incompetence, no leadership.

to start.

The Supreme Court is his only unadulterated achievement and he almost blew that.

I agree, Bush is clearly in over his head. Anyone would be. He more than many others, perhaps, but probably less so than the vast majority of his critics.

He is nowhere as inept (except as a spokesman) as some would paint him. And he most certainly is not nefarious, devious or scheming. On the contrary.

For the elites who distain America and more specifically, ordinary Americans, exertions to perserve their lifestyle, freedoms, mores, habits and customs seem positively counter productive.

I suppose that Bush has a blind spot on immigration because he sees immigrants as just like ordinary Americans and as a Christian, as children of God. He lacks the life experiences of middle class Americans who grew up in a country where college students took Summer work as cabbies, hotel staff, gardeners and painters and their cousins, brothers and sisters could raise families on careers as carpenters, painters, or in other trades.

The elites, of course, see the immigrants as a counterbalance to ordinary Americans, a force they delude themselves they can manipulate (or at least ally themselves with) to impose there distopian schemes on an America that has rejected them.
