GLASGOW, Scotland - British police announced the arrest of two people in connection with a massive terror investigation hours after a Jeep Cherokee trailing a cascade of flames rammed into Glasgow airport on Saturday, shattering glass doors just yards from passengers at the check-in counters.
Police said they believed the attack was linked to two car bombs found in London the day before.
The brazen attack in Scotland prompted Britain to raise its terror alert to critical the highest possible level and the Bush administration announced plans to increase security at airports and on mass transit.

Yep, I hope they yield great results.
God speed to all of our British friends.
Indeed! Am I right that under British law the accused has to prove himself innocent? :-)
“More Moslems came, and soon a small mosque was built, which attracted yet others. As long as Zoroastrians remained in the majority, their lives were tolerable; but once the Moslems became the more numerous, a petty but pervasive harassment was apt to develop. This was partly verbal, with taunts about fire-worship, and comments on how few Zoroastrians there were in the world, and how many Moslems, who must therefore posses the truth; and also on how many material advantages lay with Islam. The harassment was often also physical; boys fought, and gangs of youth waylaid and bullied individual Zoroastrians. They also diverted themselves by climbing into the local tower of silence and desecrating it, and they might even break into the fire-temple and seek to pollute or extinguish the sacred flame. Those with criminal leanings found too that a religious minority provided tempting opportunities for theft, pilfering from the open fields, and sometimes rape and arson. Those Zoroastrians who resisted all these pressures often preferred therefore in the end to sell out and move to some other place where their co-religionists were still relatively numerous, and they could live at peace; and so another village was lost to the old faith.”

My daughter is supposed to fly into London and out of Glasgow in about a month for the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. I’m starting to rethink the trip. The Brits got lucky this time. It’s not like these attempts were foiled in the planning stage by good intelligence!

Terror Arrests in the U.K.Police nab two more suspects in connection with Glasgow airport, London terror incidents
Total arrest number now at 4 as Britain raises terror alert to indicate another attack is imminent
You keep watch too - our Asian gentlemen members of the international bombing community seem to be a dull as brushes. Just as well.
If reports are true that the perpetrators are ones among the 2000 that police are watching, I imagine there will be demands to tighten standards on who is watched and who is arrested.
No doubt they employed some friendly, non-intrusive questioning to get the info out of the first guy they caught.
I’m sure Britain is quite safe. They are quite vigilant. Remember after the Underground bombings, they shot and killed a Brazilian electrician—shoot first and all. Anyway, these yahoos this time are 0 for 3. Couldn’t get 2 car bombs detonated and the third suv fire was not much of a success either. All it has done is put UK at heightened security. Not likely another event will be successful.
But what the heck is a “Fringe Festival” anyway?
Fringe Festival is three weeks of music and theater performances from all over the world. My daughter is in the orchestra for her high school’s production of Les Mis that they have been invited to perform. It takes over the entire city and attracts about 500,000 people so that makes me a little nervous.
