“Could be deported” following his imprisonment? Why “could”? He has been convicted of a felony. Green card holders so convicted are subject to removal from the country. Unless someone in authority drops the ball and fails to advise ICE or initiate deportation proceedings, there is no reason for the conditional. If the system works, he “will” be deported.
