What's the Rush?

That's the question Bobby Schindler asked in the case involving Jesse Ramirez, the Arizona man whose case paralleled that of Schindler's sister, Terri Schiavo, until Ramirez woke up. The Arizona Republic reports:

...Bobby Schindler of the Florida-based Terri Schindler Shiavo Foundation placed the blame on a medical establishment quick to dismiss patients with brain injuries.

Schindler is the brother of Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged Florida woman who died in 2005 after a decades-long court battle.

"What is the rush?" he asked. "This is not the first time we've heard of cases like this where doctors want to write off the chance of recovery, and the family, when they're told this, will make a decision to end a person's life.

"In the case of Mr. Ramirez, he'd be dead now."

Why is Jesse alive? His family sought legal intervention with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund:
His siblings and parents refused to give him up for dead, and today, Jesse Ramirez is alive and conscious.

Two weeks ago, he was the center of a family battling over of whether he should live or die.

Now, he can hug and kiss, nod his head, answer yes and no questions, give a thumbs-up sign and sit in a chair.

I cannot for the life of me think why anyone would pay 50 cents, much less 50 grand, to hear Dr. Death Kevorkian drool about killing people.

Did you notice that even in this brief interview he got the fact wrong -- said Terri was in a coma; and offered to commit murder -- kill her if Michael said so. That should be a parole violation.

IIRC, Dr. Death was paroled early because of his health. And most newly paroled felons are not permitted to leave the state. If Dr. Death is healthy enough to travel to Florida and give a speech, then he’s healthy enough to go back to prison.

Isn't that just like you conservatives, always bragging about your "compassion," then suggesting that a serial murderer who has killed 130 people should be behind bars.

In a fair world, Dr. Death would have been hooked-up to a lethal injection machine over a decade ago, then he could have experienced what is victims did.

I call your attention to this quite astonishing story about a normal man (more or less) with a teensy brain. Tiny brain no obstacle to French civil servant

OK, no jokes, please :-)

Above, four shots of the Frenchman's almost empty head. Below is a CT of Terri Schiavo. See how much better her brain is!

Please note the post above by T'wit. It is a graphic demolition of a most cherished lie held by the leaders of the leftists against Terri. Such obvious portrayal will have no effect on the lie crafters as they could as easily describe a white sheet of paper as black. But some who were fooled by their long and loud lies may see here graphically the emptiness of their lie. This thread is by NormsRevenge.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A man with an unusually tiny brain managed to live an entirely normal life despite his condition, caused by a fluid buildup in his skull, French researchers reported on Thursday.

Scans of the 44-year-old man's brain showed that a huge fluid-filled chamber called a ventricle took up most of the room in his skull, leaving little more than a thin sheet of actual brain tissue.

"He was a married father of two children, and worked as a civil servant," Dr. Lionel Feuillet and colleagues at the Universite de la Mediterranee in Marseille wrote in a letter to the Lancet medical journal.

Bobby Schindler carries on the fight against the notorious serial killer.

Gainesville, FL (AHN) - The University of Florida (UF) has become a battleground for the assisted suicide debate as Dr. Jack Kevorkian plans to make his first public speaking event since his release from prison in June.

Critics of Kevorkian, like the brother of the late Terri Schiavo, Bobby Schindler, have called on the university to drop the engagement. Dr. Kevorkian is "a convicted murderer. He's a man that is obsessed with death... I think the message he's sending to our young kids is dangerous," Schindler told the Gainesville Sun.

However, Steven Blank, chairman of UF's Accent Speakers Bureau says the event, which is free to students, isn't about endorsing one side or the other. "We pride ourselves on being non-partisan. We try not to take any one point of view," and the speech "will be a great way to engage our student body and allow them to come to their own conclusions," Blank tells AHN.

Thread from Pyro7480 on the organ harvest festival in the UK. Thanks to TheSarce for the ping.

It reminds me of the film by Mel Gibson, Apocalypto.

Opening quote: “ A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. ”

LONDON (Reuters) - Everyone should be treated as a potential organ donor unless they explicitly ask to opt out of the system, the chief medical officer said on Tuesday.

Sir Liam Donaldson said reversing the current system would help tackle a chronic organ shortage that leads to the deaths of hundreds of patients on waiting lists each year.

Happenings in the UK, in Aberdeen, not the same proving ground...

Thread by monomaniac. Thanks to TheSarce.

ABERDEEN, July 18, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Neonatolgist Michael Munro has been cleared by the fitness-to-practise panel of the General Medical Council (GMC) of Britain after he admitted to administering paralysing drugs to two dying infants, six months apart, in 2005 at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

The GMC panel found that Dr. Munro's intention was to relieve suffering, not to hasten the deaths of the children who were suffering severe muscle spasms in the last hours of their lives. With the parents' consent, Dr. Munro administered 23 times the standard amount of the muscle relaxant Pancuronium to one of the babies. The parents were informed that a probable secondary effect of the drug would be to hasten the child's death. During the investigation, it emerged that he had given the same drug to another terminally ill baby during its final moments six months earlier.

The GMC had said that the actions were "tantamount to euthanasia" and launched an investigation. In both cases, the children had begun to experience the painful death throes known as "agonal gasping" which had distressed the parents.

>> organ harvest festival

Don't give them ideas! "Bioethicist" Art Caplan sponsored a "Nyah, nyah, we got Terri" Jubilee at the University of Pennsylvania. (He may have had some other title for it, but that's what it was.) If they were to do an organ harvest festival, they'd bring in a live virgin victim and rip out her heart onstage.

Bioethicists (with only one exception that I know of) are professors who teach students how to murder their parents, inherit their money, and use it to make large donations to the college.

Having been fascinated by Mel Gibson’s work with “The Passion,” I watched “Apocalypto” to see what messages may lurk in the jungle. I was not disappointed. It is not so far off from what you described and perhaps portends the inner decay we may find today should the death lovers prevail.

The movie is hard to watch in all its violence, but differs only in the overtness of the protagonists, not in their effect. Today, the violence is masked lest the unsuspecting masses grow alarmed, yet in quantity and horror just might be comparable.

>> The movie is hard to watch in all its violence

What is agonizing to watch is the degradation and decline of beautiful, holy America within our own lifetimes. The City on a Hill has become a garbage dump. When I was a kid, anyone would say, "This is the best darn country in the world," and anyone else would agree. And they were right. Now just listen!

I have not seen "Apocalypto"; did see "The Passion" (which has its own special violence). Make no mistake. Evil ideas that are voiced, discussed and accepted in any significant way will be acted upon. They will turn into action, violence and death. The public schools, the universities, Hollywood, the liberal media, the churches that have renounced God, are all sowing death, and death we shall reap.

Thou hast conquered, O pale Liberalism; the world has grown grey from thy treason.

I think that part of the problem is that the real violence today has been sanitized to the point that many don't see it for what it was. Michael Schiavo didn't shoot or stab Terri, he deprived her of nutrition and hydration, the bioethicist death cult doesn't murder their "patients," they "euthanize" them. The abortionists don't butcher the unborn, they "terminate" a "glob of cells." But people become passionate about the war on terror, because they see it as death -- nothing will change until people realize that the left's agenda is far deadlier than any armed enemy.

C.S. Lewis discussed the point in "The Abolition of Man." We have but one moral code to appeal to. You can only appeal to goodness. You can't go around selling cowardice, treachery, murder and the like. When you want to do unlawful things and immoral things, you are obliged to use euphemisms to try to disguise your purposes.

That works in reverse. We can spot the serpents when they use deceitful language. If they don't state their case in plain, honest words, they are trying to sell something evil -- count on it.

Fr. Frank Pavone who was at the hospice when Terri died applies a principle of unmasking evil. As T'wit points out in the post #358 above, we know the serpents by their deceitful language. They cannot stand when their intent is clear to all. That is why images of the deeds they push are anathema.

I am reminded once again of years ago when a priest found an aborted baby in a trash can, and was carrying it when a furious abortion advocate grabbed the poor corpse from his hands, threw it to the ground and stomped upon it. Graphic confrontation causes them to unmask and show the ugliness of their evil to all. Likewise we are hated by the same lovers of evil for showing time and again the truth about Terri.

Here is Fr. Pavone:

.................................

Let me leave for you what I am convinced is the most powerful tool to change someone's mind about abortion.

I told you that I had been involved in this since I was your age, been working on this fulltime across the world, worked with the Holy Father, and Mother Teresa and all these people, worked with the pro-life movement on every level.  There is no single thing that I have seen more powerful to change people on abortion than simply showing them the pictures.

Show them what it looks like.  I have challenged the media over and over again.  Show the public what an abortion is because we can justify anything with our language.  If you are a smooth talker, if you know how to manipulate language and logic - you can convince anyone of anything.  But pictures, that is another story.

When people see what abortion does to a baby, they are stung to the heart and their consciences are awakened.  I am not just talking about showing pictures of the baby living in the womb.  People understand, by and large, that this is a baby in the womb.  Now, they will be very surprised at how much the baby looks like a baby, so early in pregnancy when they do see the pictures, the ultrasound or other ways that we have of viewing the child.  Many people will be very surprised to see how well-developed that baby is.  But, even if you show them the baby, that still doesn't tell them what abortion does to the baby.  That is a big difference.

Some people think abortion just makes the baby kind of disappear.  They still don't appreciate that it is an act of violence.  It is only the pictures of the aborted children, torn apart, limb for limb that convince people that abortion is an act of violence...........................................................
