Witnesses spoke of a terrifying chain of events which began with the dark green Jeep crashing up the pavement near international arrivals.
It got stuck on a road sign as the driver, an Asian male, tried frantically to free it and ram it through the doors.
Margaret O'Neil, 45, of Springboig, Glasgow, said: "I was 5ft away from the car and I looked straight into the passenger's eyes.
"He was wearing a red and white scarf around his head and neck and only his eyes were visible.
"He was so calm. I met his stare and he didn't even flinch. His face actually looked peaceful. Had he made it through the doors we would be dead now."
Businesswoman Sally Cameron, 36, of Broughty Ferry, said: "It was like something from a horror movie. We watched in disbelief as one of the men carrying a petrol can in each hand and totally ablaze charged at the departure area.
"He was kicking out at people and was a human fireball.
"Then he collapsed to the ground on all fours and we watched as he burned for fully two minutes."

Most of these guys are drugged senseless.
In one interview, a woman said they seemed “ to enjoy the flames”. The only thing that would explain this is demon possession.
This is the first time I’ve read that the car got stuck on a road sign. They were trying to drive the car into the terminal and many people are alive today because of that road sign.

There are usually bollards that prevent vehicles from driving into protected areas.
The hospital is still in lockdown. No one is allowed out or in. Does anybody know why?
Anybody who can still pursue purposeful activity while on fire, has to be thoroughly stoned. Lucky for the intended victims, drugs made it tough to drive the vehicle and carry out the plan.
Yes. An earlier report said that they were stopped by bollards. If it was a road sign, then it was frightfully lucky they didn’t break through into the terminal.
After 9/11, bollards were emplaced along the curbs around a fair number of buildings in Manhattan, to keep suicide vans from driving through into the buildings. But not all of them, of course.

The police blew up a car this morning in the parking lot of the hospital, in a “controlled explosion”. So there’s still an unknown danger at that location.
I find it amazing how they all claim to be proud of dying for “Allah” yet they all cover there faces before doing it. I hope this P.O.S. suffered a really painful death.
If Best Buy can do it, why not all airport terminals? (Best Buy does it to prevent “crash and grab” attempts.)

A few years ago; a drunk, (driving a Nissan Pathfinder), ran over the stop sign on our street. He too, got stuck and tried frantically to free it.
This is all a nice little story, but it just can’t be taken very seriously as a terrorist threat or be linked to something larger unless and until the New York Times says so.
