U.S. military: Beheading report was false (liar, liar, pants on fire)

BAGHDAD - Reports of 20 beheaded bodies found south of Baghdad earlier this week were untrue and may have been fabricated by insurgents aiming to incite violence and revenge killings, the U.S. military said Saturday.

On Thursday, many international and Iraqi media outlets — including The Associated Press —reported the discovery of the bodies, quoting unnamed Iraqi police. The decapitated bodies had allegedly turned up on the banks of the Tigris River near Salman Pak, 15 miles southeast of Baghdad.

“may have been fabricated by insurgents aiming to incite violence and revenge killings”

One thing that al Qaeda can count on is a compliant press to print their fabrications.

What ever happened to confirmation before print? Can’t confirm what’s not there unless they’re confirming it’s not there.

This is just one story that's been caught.

Trust me, hundreds of false stories have gotten out and trumpeted by our media since the beginning of this thing.

Exactly! I wouldn’t doubt if half the reported bodies found never happened but the MSM will knowingly use false info to keep up their anti-US agenda.

“What ever happened to confirmation before print?”

When either making President Bush look bad; making America look bad; or, helping terrorists succeed trumps journalistic accuracy. This is always the case with both the BBC and the NYT — and often true with the major wire services.

Sad but true.

Those in the newsroom making such decisions are guilty of treason.

The excuse “we have to go with sources in the field” doesn’t fly because the media has been very skeptical of running any positive news that the Pentagon may put forward including a journalist who lashed out at a press conference and said “we aren’t going to run your propaganda”.

So when editors decide to run enemy propaganda unfiltered and embargo the US government’s own releases, there IS an effort being made to aid and comfort the enemy in a time of war.

The question is NOT whether they “knew” they were running a lie, they didn’t CARE if it was true or not because they knew that it would diminish continued support for the war in Iraq. “Quagmire”, “Boondoggle”, “Civil War”, “Bush’s fault”...

It sounds good and pushes forward their agenda of “ending” the war with defeat and handing Iraq over to Iranian funded terrorist groups. All so the Democrats can focus on “domestic” issues like personal and corporate regulations to address Global Warming and Socialized Medicine.

The terrorists and their sympathizers continue to play the MSM like a fiddle. It’s pretty easy to dupe the willing, after all.

It’s a new day and a different source admitting the lies. I will point out the media lies at every turn and as many times as I can.
