Chris Matthews, presumably away on vacation, handed the reigns of MSNBC's Hardball to Democratic activist Reverend Al Sharpton. The first two guests, in the first half-hour, of the Sharpton hosted July 2 episode, were Democrats - Howard Dean and Terry McAuliffe. The hot topic of the discussion with Dean was about how the John McCain campaign and the GOP, overall, were suffering in their fundraising efforts. The following "hardball" segment, with McAuliffe, featured the Hillary Clinton campaign chairman crowing about her fundraising success.
After the McAuliffe segment, Sharpton, actually interviewed a Republican. Predictably, Sharpton's questions to presidential candidate, Representative Duncan Hunter, were tougher than the ones to his Democratic colleagues. Following the Hunter segment, Sharpton quickly returned to his Democratic friends, as he invited on presidential candidate, Democratic Senator Chris Dodd.
Wasn't it always DNC-TV?
Too bad we can’t see Matthews head explode about Libby.
I can’t remember the last time I heard anyone insult Sharpton the way Christopher Hitchens did last week.
It was worth tuning in for five mins.
Finally, a reasoned voice on MSNBC!!!
Grist for the “Fairness” Doctrine mill. If it applies to radio, why not all other forms of media? They will turn them against it in a heartbeat.
This is exactly why we need the Fairness Doctrine!!!! This is DISGUSTING TV!! Look at that HAIR!
Why would Duncan Hunter allow himself to be interviewed by the likes of Al Sharpton?
T & A instead of Q & A ?
Most likely the Sharpton switch was last minute... Spitboy probably got 'female problems' when he heard about Libby.
To a liberal that means fair and balanced. On the other hand it takes at least 5 liberals to say anything of substance vice two conservatives. Even then it is doubtful on the substance issue.
Hardball Turns Into DNC-TV
we demand a fairness doctrine....if rev run al gets TV time...
msnbc MUST give the same hosting time to Ann Coulter!!!!!
That's true. At least Sharpie-Sharp is funny.
Sharpton...Matthews....what’s the diff?
They must abide by the fairness doctrine the “progressives” so love. I want to see Ann Coulter get equal time as Hardball host.
One guy is black and the other guy is white?
OMG!! Al Sharpton is filling-in for Sissy Chrissy while he’s on vacation.
I’ve got to watch this. This will turn off a lot of Southern, and conservative, Democrat fence-sitters with Chrissy and the entire lib movement.
Yeah but that’s the ONLY difference.
MSNBC sunk to the lowest of the low by putting that racist bastard on.
