Cheney “reinvented” nothing. He did make his position a powerful one, something most VPs have never done, but his “reinvention” is chimerical because fit is entirely dependent upon a president who will stick with the plan! So, in the end, Cheney has only engineered his own position and not changed the VP position one iota... unless the next president does the same with his own VP. And that is exceedingly unlikely.
This was not written to be a complimentary article to Chaney, but it is.
Did anybody notice that Cheney had nothing to say publicly in support of the Amnesty Bill for illegal aliens?
