I thought Castro was the world’s richest man; he owns an entire nation.

Crap. His real rise to wealth was the result of his connection with the Salinas brothers, who sold off all the old state owned businesses to their buddies for next to nothing.
In addition to paying nothing for the businesses, he enjoys monopolies (the telecom biz especially).
And if you think this guy doesn't protect himself by a) paying massive bribes, and b) making people dead who try to get in his way, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn you can buy with no money down.
That's who this SOB is. Comparing him to Bill Gates is like comparing Al Capone to Henry Ford.

Don't know if it's true, but I have heard that Steve Jobs got back to Apple because Apple stock was so low that Ellison threatened to buy it (not for Oracle, for himself, from his own funds) and take it private! Rather than have that, the board cooked up the Jobs deal. Imagine being rich enough to buy Apple as a kind of lark... Ellison is cool! |

You need to do a little research on William H. Gates III. I'm continually amazed at the number of people on Free Republic that lionize Billy G.
I thought we didn't like people that give money to the U.N. to support forced abortions, nor do we like people that cozy up to the Communist Chinese government by giving away the source code to their flagship product. The same source code that he has continuously denied Federal investigators and US security researchers.

Oh...don't worry. I have no illusions about Wee Willy, the Un-Creative Genius of Redmond. Well, if you limit creativity to software, and not plagiarizing schemes dependent on loose interpretations of the copyright laws...he's real creative at that.
But the guys in Mexico are orders of magnitude worse. People here simply have no clue. "Modern" Mexico makes Caligula's Rome look like a Puritan village. You don't have the kind of money that the Mexican billionaires have without putting people face down in the arroyos, as the saying goes.
You just wouldn't survive.
Gates doesn’t give his source code away to the communists, he sells it to them. You are obviously confused with the open source companies you support, who do in fact actually GIVE their software away to communists for free, in fact Red Hat from North Carolina allows the Chinese government to completely rename the product to “Red Flag”, without a dime back to the US. You’re already aware of this of course, and fooling no one.
But now that a foreigner is the world’s richest man instead of Gates, I’m sure you’re celebrating. Happy 4th of July.
