And just what are these “state laws” that would be violated?

It would require the county to check the immigration status of all residents before providing services.

Should be a no-brainer. Unfortunately it's not. And while they're at it, stop providing a free education to children without US birth certificates. Let's stop all aid and watch the well dry up.

One would think "discrimination on the basis of national origin." But if the County refuses to provide services to all illegal immigrants, regardless of national origin, then there are no state laws violated, only a Democrat supervisor (we know this guy) who is scared of all the illegals living in his jurisdiction.

I believe Georgia has passed a similar law that went into effect July 1st.

For the particulars, I will have to find a website link.

Individual states could pass better laws dealing with immigration that the feds ever could.

I like the trend and hopes it continues...

Los Angeles, California is a city badly in need of some illegal immigration reform (deportation).

With a Mexican mayor who maintains a "sanctuary city", and a cowardly city council and police chief, we're stuck with paying the bills for the invaders because document fraud is rampant, and the illegals have learned every way possible to access the welfare system.

I wonder how that would fly in California. Counties are an extension of the state in California. Most social and public health programs are federal and state with a small County maintenance of effort (monetary match.) Wonder if they would defund the program for the entire County if the County started checking on citizenship status and limited accessibility to benefits to citizens only.

I know when we asked whether Public Health checked status on their shots clinics, they said no.

It seems to me that we need to eliminate the incentive for illegals to come here. If the feds and state won’t do it, perhaps the Counties could.

sounds good to me. Arrest all other children that hang around during the day. These hispanic kids already form gangs at a drop of a hat and that is when they are already in school. Thus you know how bad it will get otherwise. Another reason to kick all these people out.

LA and most of California have been lost. Too late to do anything there.
