Hillary Clinton and the Power of Pardon
Associated Content ^ | 07--3-07 | Ranger

Senator Hillary Clinton of New York issued the following statement on President Bush’s decision to commute the sentence of Scooter Libby:

"Today's decision is yet another example that this Administration simply considers itself above the law. This case arose from the Administration's politicization of national security intelligence and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies. Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the consequences of this White House's efforts to quell dissent. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."

Pardon and Commutation are powers reserved to the President through our heritage of English common law.

The King had the power of life and death. The power to make law, and to commute or pardon crimes. So the framers of the Constitution gave such powers to our chief executive. While George Bush may enjoy the headlines today for the commutation (not pardon) of a portion of the sentence of Scooter Libby that he judged to be excessive, take a few minutes to refresh your memory of the felons and murderers that Bill Clinton pardoned.

I believe that Shrillery’s brother was actually paid some big bucks to secure a pardon for at least one criminal.

I am so very tired of The Good Guys taking the “upper road” when these guys sling us with arrows.

Back when our Noble Ancestors won our independence from England, they played dirty by the standards of the day. They didn’t approach a battle all lined up nice and pretty: They hid in the hills and ambushed the enemy.

WE HAVE TO FIGHT THE ENEMY TO WIN—NOT TO LOOK GOOD!!!

Did anyone happen to see Hillary’s farmer costume that she was wearing in Iowa? I couldn’t believe it. I bet that she bought it at Wall Mart. When she’s not faking an accent to fit in, she’s wearing a costume. No one in the audience looked as bad as she did.

Remember the quote from “White man can’t jump?” “You’d rather look good losing than look bad winning.”

And .. in Hillary’s case particularly .. the good old “projection technique” as a magnificent example.

In case you don’t understand .. Hillary just explained her husband’s presidency .. read it again and you’ll see what I mean.
