The reigning Miss New Jersey claims someone is using photographs she posted on the Internet to try to force her to give up her crown. Amy Polumbo and her attorney held a news conference at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park this afternoon to denounce the blackmail attempt.
The 22-year-old Howell woman said she received copies of between six and 12 of her photos in the mail on June 25 with a letter threatening to make them public unless she gives up her crown to the pageant's first runner-up.

If you all would read the story (which takes effort, I get that), you would understand that the photographs (1) were not lewd in nature; (2) were uploaded to one of those photo-sharing internet sites (where people upload photos, then e-mail family/friends with the web address); and (3) were doctored.
No scandal, no shame. Just some scumbag out there trying to make a buck.

They say that they aren't "lewd".And maybe they're not. "Lewd" is in the eye of the viewer, after all.
You think somebody believes she'll give up her position just because they've got pictures of her wearing an old sweatsuit and no makeup?

I read the full story. According to her and her attorney, the pix were not lewd.

I have often wondered about the security of photo sharing sites. I guess this answers that question.
Moral of the story, be careful what you put on the internet, even behind a password.

Sure. Lots of stupid people out there. Read the comments at the bottom of the story for proof. You think somebody who truly posted lewd pictures to a photo sharing site would be so public about the blackmail attempt?

No. Click the link to the article. It was a private area of a photo-sharing site.
