Our officers have a level of life experience which students can't possibly have at the age of 21 or 22.

Garbage. Training and range practice as CCW pre-requists would provide for the experience level and maturity that would have prevented a VT massacre.

And what of the 21 and 22 year olds currently serving us in the Middle East??? LEO bias against armed law-abiding citizens...

My 15 year old grandson has more training than many cops, and shows more maturity.

And then there's this:
Baylor University has a dedicated force of 24 police officers who are trained and drilled to respond to a firearms attack such as that at Virginia Tech.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement, is it?

If you consider "Computer Simulation" a facet of training, most civilians have likely racked up more hours in practice than many government subsidized agents.

In addition, much of that "training" occurs in the form of First Person Shooters(FPS)s. Individuals who play these are "trained" to actually shoot a human and follow through to a kill. Just sayin'...

Exactly, I'll bet if you checked, you'd find that many of his officers aren't all that much older than the students, and they are unlikely to have any experience, such as military, that some of the students will have had, say in the National Guard, or Reserves, in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Yeah, that line caught me, too; whatta crock.

If you factor in all the kids out there playing paintball, hunting with their Dads/Grandfathers/Uncles, logging time with FPS video/computer games (that teach THINKING and PLANNING -- hello? STRATEGY? -- not just visceral reaction), there's a REALLY good chance that the 21 or 22 year old student knows PLENTY, and it probably goes a bit farther than "two to the center of mass, count two; add one to the head if it's still moving".

Try this on for size:

"LEO bias against armed law-abiding citizens..."

Yes, and how very strange that is....considering it's the Citizens who have approved LEO's for carrying privilege. It isn't their right, as it is we who determine what their working tools are or are not.

And for them to turn around and pretend it is they who have approved us, the Citizens, for carry is pompous arrogance of the highest order.

I say dis-arm and fire any LEO who has succumbed to the disease of the elite.

Power is intoxicating. The paramilitary mentality which is increasingly monopolizing law-enforcement agencies in the U.S. does not want to share power with the average citizen.

I have more confidence in an average law-abiding citizen having a gun for his/her defence than in some testosterone charged elitist modern cop with his PBA or FOP benefits, outrageous pay and arrogance.

Andrew Sugg here.

Unfortunately due to restraints I can’t mention my exact background. Lets just say I’ve got more training and trigger time than an Army soldier, not to mention being awarded something called the Governor’s Twenty from Texas.

The worst thing about this entire event and the other articles and interviews that I have done is that the Chief of Police here at Baylor has yet to answer any of my e-mails and he has chosen to disappear every time I go to the DPS office on campus to talk to him.

And yes the entire Baylor police force has a God complex larger than a fighter pilot’s. Which was sad when I had to retrieve my weapons and ammo from their vault to only find rounds missing and clean guns dirty.
