Ezekiel 9:3 “Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherubim on which it rested to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writing case at his side.
4: And the LORD said to him, “Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.” “
These people were marked with a little “X” or a cross. An X mark, if you will...

and where it the text does it say an X or cross? Is there historical evidence for this?

"VeriChip is a human-implantable RFID (radio frequency identification) device from VeriChip Corporation. Promotional photo of the chipVeriChip is the first Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved human-implantable RFID microchip. VeriChip received United States FDA approval in 2004. About twice the length of a grain of rice, the device is typically implanted above the triceps area of an individuals right arm. Once scanned at the proper frequency, the VeriChip responds with a unique 16-digit number which can correlate the user to information stored on a database for identity verification, medical records access and other uses. The insertion procedure is performed under local anesthetic and once inserted, is invisible to the naked eye. The process can easily be performed in a physicians office."

I think you and I are on the same page. The mark of the beast is the opposite of the mark of God. It isn't some silly chip or a card that we carry.
The mark of the beast is not keeping God's commandments. Loving the things he finds abominable. Those things are not forced on us. We either accept them, or we don't. God will know.
