Frankly, I don't think the comparison is accurate. The Duke players were accused of rape but were acquitted. Are you for the death penalty for convicted rapists? Just asking...

No. They were falsely accused and the charges were dropped. Acquittal means they actually stood trial on the charges. The charges were fabrications of a drug addled prostitute and an ambitious district attorney playing the race card to get re-elected.

They were NOT acquitted. They were never tried but found to be innocent and uncharged!

The Duke players were not acquitted.

They were declared innocent.

The crime as alleged had never occured, thus they could not possibly have committed it.
