Yeah, OK, but I thought that the pressure in the breech had to go up to, I don't know, 5000 psi or something like that. Even a few thousandths would bleed off a significant piece of that. And the bullet has to be forced into the rifling, right? A few thousandths above Mach 1 is a brick wall.

Magnums are supersonic. They are tough on the brass, though, which makes reloading somewhat limited.
