All the Senators are doing is telling Bush to defecate or get off the pot on Iraq. They're not going to withhold troop funds, nor are they calling for an immediate pullout. They just want a better strategy which won't lead to a long-term committment.

Calling them traitors or cut-and-runners is disingenous. I know you like to live in your little FR bubble where you can beat your chest all day long, but there are folks out in the real world who are letting these Senators hear it, and they have a right to do so just like we did when we stopped the amnesty immigration bill.

It seems to me that the President chose "defecate" by putting the surge in place, and these Senators unanimously joined him by voting for Petraeus to be confirmed. Now, they want to choose "Get off the pot" partway through defecation. Well, getting off the toilet in the middle of defecation only sounds like a good strategy if you want to carry the crap out of the bathroom with you into your living area. And that's exactly what we'll do if we don't see this through.
