Gay-Friendly Curriculum to go Ahead in Maryland Schools

ROCKVILLE, Maryland, July 9, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Maryland State Board of Education will not interfere with a local school board's efforts to insert curriculum material legitimizing homosexuality. The board agreed that while parents may have some say in what is taught to their children, that "right is not absolute. It must bend to the State's duty to educate its citizens."

Parents in Montgomery County have been battling the school board on the insertion of homosexual material in schools for two and a half years. In November 2004 the parents won a delay in the courts after the Montgomery Board announced it had approved a curriculum that included teaching 8th graders about homosexuality and how to use condoms.

Now the State Board has ruled that it will do nothing to stop Montgomery County Public Schools teaching the "gay inclusive" curriculum.

The ruling acknowledged that "there may be disparate points of view" on including "homosexuality or transgender issues" in the curriculum, but the Board would not interfere in the local board's decision "unless, of course, that decision is illegal."

The curriculum lessons for the eighth grade are titled, "Respect for Differences in Human Sexuality," and adopt and promote the homosexual movement's language and interpretation on "sexual identity" and "orientation." They exclude discussion of the moral licitness of deviant sex acts under the rubric of "non-judgementalism".

In the tenth grade students will be taught about "coming out" as a homosexual and will be given lessons in using condoms.

Patricia B. O'Neill, a spokesman for the Montgomery Board issued a statement saying, "Unfortunately, this shrill minority has attempted to derail the curriculum and create discord across the community through misinformation via direct mail and telemarketing and through legal challenges."

Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum, Parents & Friends of Gays & Ex-Gays, and Family Leader Network had petitioned state officials to stop the Montgomery Board, arguing that curriculum's insistence on "non-judgemental" language violated the rights of religious parents and others who believe homosexual behaviour is morally wrong.

The group's representative John Garza, told media that the next step would be discussed at their next meeting. Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum announced they will be filing suit in federal court.

Patricia B. O'Neill,

I wonder what the jail time one would get for tarring and feathering this beast of burden.

The ONLY thing these perverts understand is money. If they lose students, they lose money. So putting your kids in private, faith based, or in some cases charter, schools, or home schooling, will hit them where it hurts. The only other thing you can do is with hold your property tax, but keep it on hand, just in case you have to produce it. When that statement has been made, just pay it. But let the town and school board know why you are withholding it. It will give them an idea how serious you are, and the kind of money they would lose with this perverted curriculum.

Please, people, think seriously about home schooling your children! I home schooled mine and have NEVER been sorry.

If you wait for things to get better, they never will. If you think you will fight the evil and win,....you won't. I used to think that maybe when Republicans took over, things would get better,... they didn't. If you think, "This is what I pay my taxes for", you will loose your child to sexual deviance, dope, liberalism, tattoo's, piercings, etc. My daughter is in her 3rd year of college and I can tell you I am absolutely sure home schooling was the right thing to do. I wasn't so sure while it was going on, but after seeing what her friends turned out like, now I praise God for the right I exercised.

There are so many people who are furious with the Montgomery County Public Schools that I would think they’d have more than an adequate student body if they wanted to start a private school. Us? We give up; we’re leaving MoCo and moving back to America soon.

Mmmm...People’s Republic of Montgomery County. It’s almost as bad as the neighboring Socialist utopias across the River in Arlington and Alexandria.

Problem is, is that these parents don't have the time or the money to do the things you listed. If it was me, I'd simply pull my kid out and have her take some courses online. They got free math sheets and geography and stuff online, you'd be amazed that kids can basically get educated via the Web for next to nothing. PennFoster.edu offers a high school diploma, she can stay at home and take that.

I’m still waiting for “straight friendly curriculums”.

How come the villains in our popular fiction and literature are almost universally straight men and women?

I sent them this..

I understand you plan to teach the children of Maryland all about homosexuality, and of course, anal sex.

I hope you will tell them about the health hazards of such an unsanitary practice.

The health risks associated with such behavior are well documented and are debilitating, reducing the life expectancy of those who practice it regularly by a significant number of years.

There are lethal medical consequences of engaging in male homosexual behavior. These various behaviors cause trauma to the rectum; contribute to the spread of AIDS; increase incidences of oral and anal cancer; and result in serious infections due to the ingestion of fecal matter. Anal intercourse tears the rectal lining of the receptive partner, regardless of whether a condom is worn, and the subsequent contact with their own fecal matter leads to a host of diseases. Other diseases to which active homosexuals are vulnerable can be classified as follows:

Classical sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, infections with Chlamydia trachomatis, syphilis, herpes simplex infections, genital warts, pubic lice, scabies); enteric diseases (infections with Shigella species, Campylobacter jejuni, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, [”gay bowel disease”], Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and cytomegalovirus); trauma (related to and/or resulting in fecal incontinence, hemorroids, anal fissure, foreign bodies lodged in the rectum, rectosigmoid tears, allergic proctitis, penile edema, chemical sinusitis, inhaled nitrite burns, and sexual assault of the male patient); and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Increased morbidity and mortality is an unavoidable result of male-with-male sex—not to mention the increased rates of alcoholism, drug abuse, depression, suicide and other maladies that so often accompany a homosexual lifestyle.

A 1998 study suggested that a homosexual lifestyle, on the average, shortens one’s lifespan by roughly 20 years. It is more deadly than smoking, alcoholism, or drug addiction.

Be sure to mention all this to the students so that they are fully informed, to not do so would be a dereliction of you obligation to those that are entrusted to you to educate.
