"And a decent chance they harvested (say) his kidneys before he died...without anaesthetic." Fresh organs are best harvested without pain or trauma. They can be tainted by excessive adrenaline if you just try to rip them out.

"This practice is becoming more prevalent all the time. I only wish there were some ways to warn our undocumented worker friends of this." I hear the perpetrators are especially cunning and prey on Mexicans who drink to excess outside of convenience stores. Perhaps signs in espanol should be posted at every 7-11, Circle-K, Diamond Shamrock, etc. just to stop the bitter harvest. If deporting every illegal saves just one of their lives, it would be worth it....

Marx taught us all that if we employ his system of government, greed will disappear, because greed is a construct of Capitalism. No one would steal or accept a bribe in a communist state. In all fairness to the Authoritarian autocratic thugs who run China, their economic system is not pure communism anymore. They've embraced capitalism. However, as we know, communism is an economic theory not a political one. You can have a repressive Autocratic despotic central government and still be "capitalist" economically.
Shooting the failed capitalist is the inevitable result of such an unholy alliance.

There is a rumor going around that Mexicans captured in New Mexico wake up back across the border missing kidneys Now THAT'S what I call paying the price for coming in illegally. Would that we could do more of it.
Think of all the people waiting desparately for a transplant who could be helped. Plus, it might may our "friends" to the south think twice about sneaking in if they had a chance of losing body parts as the price for their efforts.

Just for clarification, most Chinese do not confuse Rs and Ls. Heck, even Japanese speakers of English, seldom mix up the R and the L now, and their native language doesn't even have the hard English R.

It is happening in Oregon too.

As a former ESL teacher of Japanese students, I beg to differ. As long as Japanese high school English teachers are Japanese, the L/R mix up will continue.

Actually, if you read Gertz’ the “China Threat,” you’ll find that the ChiComs are communist to the core. All they abandoned was Stalin, Kruschev, and Breshnev’s isolationism. That is, the ChiComs saw that refusing to have trade with Capitalist nations killed their economies.
Internally, however, the Maoists are as Stalinist as Stalin was. And they propagandize internally in the same manner, that the health and good of the state is more important than all other concerns, that Capitalism is an outward manifestation of greed, etc.
They took Lenin’s precept to heart (the Capitalists will sell us the rope we will hang them with). The ChiComs are trading with us, but they still hate Capitalism, hate us, and are using trade to strengthen themselves militarily in an effort to control the Pacific rim.

BEIJING (AP) - China executed the former head of its food and drug watchdog on Tuesday for approving untested medicine in exchange for cash, the strongest signal yet from Beijing that it is serious about tackling its product safety crisis.
Any bets on how long it takes the corpse to end up in dog food?

Not just New Mexico. One of my neighbors in New Jersey got a new kidney that way. But don’t tell anyone south of the border. They might stop coming up.

His actions caused the deaths of 10 people at least. His acceptance of bribes was part of a scheme that killed people, threatened the public health. He got what he deserved.
Hmm, what does that tell us about Slick Willie and the Arkansas AIDS blood scandal? Lot more than 10 people are dying from it. Would be nice, wouldn't it?
