I disagree. Regardless of the issue that this supporter gave on, the money earned was blood money.
If the guy was a drug dealer would it be OK because it was not due to Tanc’s view on drug legalization but on his views for something else.
Your are right. A candidate cannot know all his supporters. But if a finincial supporter is found out to be totally in opposition of one the candidate’s most passionate issues, he should return the money. There are too many examples to list illustrating this point, you listed one fine example. A church accepting money from casinos is another. Rudy G returning the 10 million to the Saudi prince after unforgivable remarks. Many candidates have returned moneys found to be from supporters with questionable backgrounds.
LEO’s are always using confiscated or seized assets to fight against drug dealers from whom LEO’s obtain those assets.
This just happens to be a voluntary seizure...
