NAACP National Board Chairman Julian Bond says the possibility that New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward will never be rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina is comparable to a "lynching."

These people have sat around and done NOTHING on their own behalf waiting for big daddy gubmint to ride in and throw billions of undeserved money at them. They were suckling at the big teat before the storm and will continue to do it, generation after generation. They encourage hatred from the outside because of their behavior, attitude, and ignorance of the harsh reality that sometimes you have to do for yourself.

Okay tell Bush to stop having the military hold guns on these people and preventing them from taking hammer in hand and getting to work. Bush is so mean!

And if all of the below sea level regions of New Orleans are rebuilt, he would be first in line to criticize Whitey for forcing the poor blacks to live in a dangerous area.

My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn’t leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don’t blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me “Julian.”

Bond is a black racist looking for a platform to be heard and made relevant.
Look into your own community there pal. Look at the percentage of fatherless families. Look at how other places hit hard by hurricanes repaired and rebuilt for and by themselves instead of waiting for a handout and the gubmnt.

Exactly. And these folks conveniently forget that other areas were also devastated by Katrina — parts of Mississippi, Alabama, etc. — not to mention places in Florida and elsewhere damaged by storms, floods, hurricanes and what not that year. The residents in those places picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and rebuilt. You don’t hear whining and moaning about not getting government help. If those people were able to get their lives back together, then these bums should be able to do the same.

The lower Ninth Ward never should have been built in the first place. The only thing that made it affordable to those that eventually built there was the undesirable level of risk associated with its location.
That risk was fully realized by Katrina. For what it would cost to rebuild there, between the more stringent construction codes and the astronomical increase in insurance rates, people can afford to live someplace safer.

Hey Julian, ever heard the phrase, “The Lord helps those who help themselves”?

If your beloved citizens of NOLA would get off their collective dead asses instead of waiting for a handout, then you might see some changes.

Until then, New Orleans will not improve unless and until THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE MAKE IT HAPPEN. The “gub’mint” can’t do it for you.

Schoolbuses were available. The disaster plan was ignored. The incompetence of the mayor and governor was mind boggling. The victims of the storm are being screwed over by people like Julian Bond. People need to help the very young and very old in time of disaster. What in the name of God will these Americans do in time of a man made horror? Sit on the roof and scream at George W. Bush? I watched and could not believe that the citizens did not even have a survival instict and expected to be carried out by others. Nothing can teach people common sense. It seems to me we have many Americans without any at all.

Hey Julian: I wouldn't mind seeing your Afro-Marxist, Stalin-loving ass lynched, douchebag.

Strange fruit, indeed.

Say a hurricane is about to destroy the city you live in. Two questions:

What would you do?

What would you do if you were black?

Sadly, the two questions don't have the same answer.

To the first: Most of us would take our families out of that city quickly to protect them from danger. Then, able-bodied men would return to help others in need, as wives and others cared for children, elderly, infirm and the like.

For better or worse, Hurricane Katrina has told us the answer to the second question. If you're black and a hurricane is about to destroy your city, then you'll probably wait for the government to save you.

This was not always the case. Prior to 40 years ago, such a pathetic performance by the black community in a time of crisis would have been inconceivable. The first response would have come from black men. They would take care of their families, bring them to safety, and then help the rest of the community. Then local government would come in.

No longer. When 75 percent of New Orleans residents had left the city, it was primarily immoral, welfare-pampered blacks that stayed behind and waited for the government to bail them out. This, as we know, did not turn out good results.

Enter Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan. Jackson and Farrakhan laid blame on "racist" President Bush. Farrakhan actually proposed the idea that the government blew up a levee so as to kill blacks and save whites. The two demanded massive governmental spending to rebuild New Orleans, above and beyond the federal government's proposed $60 billion. Not only that, these two were positioning themselves as the gatekeepers to supervise the dispersion of funds. Perfect: Two of the most dishonest elite blacks in America, "overseeing" billions of dollars. I wonder where that money will end up.

Whine, whine and whine. Cry babies. As long as they can waste space, breath and everyone’s time; they will continue the “woe is me” prattle.

Isn’t there a person with a spine and honesty out there?

Somehow the fact that the federal pay outs for Katrina have been the subject of the largest collective fraud and abuse in history seems to be conveniently over looked in this continuation of the twisted story. Most of the fraud is in Louisiana and the “victims” Bond is whining about are among the perpetrators. Sorry Julian, we already gave at the office and have lost our sense of guilt...
