A Daring Call for Protest in Iran

A Daring Call for Protest

These pictures show current graffiti on walls in Tehran announcing a protest gathering against the gas rationing. It says " To protest the gas rationing, please come together on Friday at Enqelab Square at 6PM."

Writing graffiti on walls in Iran is a very serious offense, especially when it calls for protest, which is generally seen as conspiring against the government. A group calling itself Komite Mobarezat Melli Iran ( Committe of Iran's National Struggle ) has claimed to be calling for the protest. The final picture is of thousands of leaflets they printed also asking people to join the protest.

I don’t buy it. They are probably protesting the ration of gasoline because they can’t take weapons and suicide terrorists to the Iraqi border.

I think you have a naive view of Iranians.

Yes. I hope this protest against gas rationing could pick up the momentum. Big uprisings in former E. European countries first started with such every-day problem.

There is a big difference between the Iranian people and Ahmadinejad and his mullahs.

I take it you were being cynical.
