This piece is such an obviously biased bit of propagandizing “reportage” that it makes me think more positively about Romney. Anybody who is the target of this kind of slanted “reporting” is worth a second look. I’m still for Fred, but if Fred doesn’t make it, I could vote for Mitt.

You must like “Romney Care” government forced purchase of medical insurance. Based on Mitt’s record in Massachusetts you must in favor of the AWB, and Mitt’s reincarnation from Liberal to Rino which started in 2005, apparently when he wanted to run for POTUS.

Mitt is a man of many words and no plans to execute. IE a BS’r.

Hello Folks!

Can we keep cool a bit? This article is certainly negative toward Romney, but look at the source! The New Republic!!

I have not decided whom to favor in the primaries, but I think that we should all agree: any Republican is better than any Democrat. There are some Republicans that I am very unenthusiastic about (McCain, Ron Paul), but I can’t think of a single Democrat who is as good as the worst Republican contender.

Of COURSE Mitt is an Establishment candidate. He's a blue blood who takes after his RINO daddy.

Rudy McRomney is a 3-pronged strategy for liberals to win the GOP nomination.

McCain was the straight talkin' maverick
Rudy was the rock star liberal
Mitt was the faux conservative convert

They figured by putting up three entries on different tacks they had an excellent chance at anchoring a drifting GOP firmly in liberalism.

the people who pal around with the candidates backstage. And they already know Romney's a fraud.

Oddly, the opinion columnist doesn't provide a single example of one of these people saying he's a fraud. And the people he mentions, like the "Focus on the Family Patriarch", haven't said he's a fraud, instead they have said he is believable.

The people who DON'T know Romney personally, who support other candidates, are the ones who say he is a fraud. He's a man who leaves a good impression when he meets personally with people.

BTW, I know who Jay Sekulow is, and I dare say that a large chunk of the Republican Activist base knows who he is. It's not like those "obscure" evangelicals that we so often hear called our "spokespeople" -- Sekulow has actually DONE things, important things, and has made a name for himself by actually PRODUCING results.

The ACLJ has been a critical and successful part of the home school movement, has almost single-handedly defended religious freedom in our public schools, and has done a great battle against the ACLU eroding our religious liberties.

There is nothing "elitist" about Sekulow, in the sense that your typical "elitist" is someone who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.

Anyway, its' always fun to read an opinion column written by someone who isn't bound by the rules of evidence or beholden to the facts, because it's so much easier to attack people if you get to just say whatever you feel like without having to deal with pesky things like truth or quotes or actual evidence backing up what you are saying.

Uh, that's not "Noam Schrieber", its the the estimable Noam Scheiber

As in: "worthy of esteem; deserving respect or admiration."

So not only is he posting a liberal columnist's opinion as fact, he praises that liberal columnist as someone he admires.

Hey, don’t say anything bad about those Ice Road Truckers. I think some of them would make better Presidents than SOME of our candidates......

Noam Scheiber who?

I have already heard of him before you posted this article.

Sounds like another sore anti-Romney loser annoyed at the level of money and support that Mitt is raising among Republican voters.

>>>>I searched and searched for this article.

Therin lies the problem. Perhaps your material would find a better reception if you posted it here. Go find another Forum Liberal Troll.

DAILY EXPRESS. Blame Worthy. by Noam Scheiber .... The column was warmly received, among other places, on Daily Kos, probably the most influential liberal ...

Noam Scheiber has been with The New Republic since August, 2000. He holds a master's degree in economics from Oxford University and a B.S. in math from Tulane University. In addition to his work at TNR, Scheiber has written for The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, Slate, Salon, The Washington Monthly, the Chicago Tribune, and The Christian Science Monitor. He has appeared on CNN, CNNfn, CNBC and NPR.

From Wiki -

The New Republic (TNR) is an American magazine of opinion published twice per month (published weekly before March 2007) and with a circulation between 40,000 and 65,000. The editor-in-chief is Martin Peretz. The current editor is Franklin Foer. Politically, the magazine tends to support modern liberal political policies.

Of course this is the best reply to you I have seen yet.

Whenever a liberal accuses you of something like that, 90% of the time, it’ll turn out to be the exact same thing they’re doing.

Most of the people against Mitt are Thompson people and Hunter people (who are against everyone). Thompson isn’t in the race yet and it’s laughable to think that he’d be hiring people to post on forums at this stage of the game. Hunter’s got zero bucks to hire anyone. RudyBoosters aren’t popular around here, so that would be pointless.

The guy’s obviously accusing you of being a paid supporter of another candidate, because he’s paid by Mitt.

Yes, I caught that. See post # 19. This lowly MittWitt sniffed out the poser with all the sagacity of a Rhodes Scholar.

He is gone.

Yes, he's gone. Funny how some people were so eager to jump on his bandwagon and bump his other threads without doing any research or follow-up. Typical of many anti-Mitt people who ignore Romney's actual record. Knee-jerk reactionaries. I guess they know who they are....and so do we.

Many of us anti-Mitt people (aka conservatives) have paid close attention to his "actual" record.

That's why we're anti-Mitt.

LOL. Does not compute. Like I was saying.....if one actually had a look, one would see a conservative record:

Romney's Fiscally Conservative Record

Romney's Conservative Pro-life Record

Romney's Conservative Stance on Illegal Immigration

Oh yes, a pro-gay, gun-grabbing reign as governor makes him oh so conservative.

All just words, no substance. You don't have to support him, but it is false to say he does not have a conservative record. If you bothered to look, you'd see no liberal and/or RINO would have a record like the one linked above. And, the 2A was actually expanded not restricted under his watch. Don't let the actual facts get in your way though:

Actual record on guns

Romney Right on 2nd Amendment
