The governor's orders say the new rules can be enacted without approval from the Legislature because they are based on existing state environmental laws.

I hope that the Florida Legislature will take a look at this and either (1) if the Governor's position is not correct, then challenge the Governor's assertion that he has been granted such authority or (2) if Governor's position is correct and he does have such authority currently, then change any environmental laws that give the Governor carte blanche authority to make such sweeping regulations.

“if the Governor’s position is not correct, then challenge the Governor’s assertion that he has been granted such authority”

Good suggestion.

I’d check the state constitution and see if the governor has legislative power, which is nearly always reserved to the legislature.

If there’s law writing power for the governor, what’s to prevent him from declaring himself dictator for life?

Every darn time I put my phone list away, somebody in Fla does somethin' outrageous. I should just keep the numbers handy. Doing this by executive order imo is UNCONSTITUTIONAL because it involves revenue and an increase in power bills. Unfortunately, he put a RINO in the public service commission, Nancy Argenziano and don't count on her going to bat when our power bills SUBSIDIZE the nuke plants, the solar and the wind.

Can you imagine windmills here? I don't think that will work with hurricanes. They will fly off and cause lots of destruction. Stupid, sellout Charlie. The first person who is killed by a windmill will be paid millions by the taxpayers.seriesly. We always end up paying. If the companies don't comply, Charlie will fine them and guess what? The fines will be passed on to Floridians.
