But a new analysis of data on the sun's output in the last 25 years of the 20th century has firmly put the notion to rest.

The certainty of this statement immediately makes me doubt the veracity of this report.

That seems to be a wise approach with all of this GW crap. It's a political game, and they try to impress you with their certitude.

The shakier the foundation, the more solidly they build the roof to make up for it.

It was my understanding that the incident solar radiation striking and heating the Earth has increased recently. I recall a paper from the Max Plank Solar Institute. I fee uneasy about this article because of the lack of a reference.

"The certainty of this statement immediately makes me doubt the veracity of this report."

First thing that came to my mind was that after several studies showed the sun to be a major factor (and human activity only a sidebar) the proponents of carbon offsets and general panic have laid all criticism 'firmly to rest' with one unattributed analysis.

Unfortunately, that's all the true believers need to restore their convictions.

I don’t understand why people who are normally sane don’t understand that there are time lags built into almost every mechanical system (and most other systems they come into contact with, including personal and economic interactions.)

We’ve clearly got some huge lags built into climate/ temperature changes due to the thermal masses of various components of the Earth. I don’t understand why anyone would expect a solar change would be instantaneously seen on Earth in most cases.

25 years???!!! In terms of the cosmic clock even a 1000 years would barely register!
