Algore’s put on some serious weight lately but 800 pounds ?

But thanks in large part to the 75 hours of free airtime that NBC gave Gore on its various stations, starting with NBC and including CNBC, Bravo, the Sundance channel, Universal HD and Telemundo, Gore may now be the 800-pound gorilla this political season.

In the entertainment business, if you spend a fortune putting on a huge extravaganza, and no one watches, it doesn't make you a 800-pound gorilla. It makes you a major flop.

The Live Earth concert didn't help Gore, it hurt him. Those that thought it went well were already true believers. However, overall I think his support and credibility are shrinking.

I would like to see a serious, reliable summary of actual attendance and viewership for the “Live Girth” concerts. Beforehand, and even during and after, many Gorebots have been throwing around the ludicrous “2 billion” figure, which is presumably how many conceivable viewers there might have been if everyone in the world who might possibly be able to access the programming actually did watch.

In reality, of course, only a small (probably tiny) fraction of that number watched any of it. I would like to see a serious, thorough de-bunking of the “2 billion” figure that has been thrown around so much — anyone know who could carry out this task and get the results published??
