Louisiana Senator Faces More Brothel Claims
(CBS News) NEW ORLEANS New allegations tie Sen. David Vitter to a high-priced brothel in his hometown, one day after he publicly apologized for his connection to an alleged prostitution ring in Washington, D.C.
On Monday, Vitter acknowledged being involved with the so-called D.C. Madam, hours after Hustler magazine told him his telephone number was among those she disclosed. A day later, new revelations linked him to a former madam in New Orleans and old allegations that he frequented a former prostitute resurfaced, further clouding his political future.
Jeanette Maier on Tuesday said Vitter was once a client of the Canal Street brothel. She pleaded guilty to running the operation in 2002. Vitter won his seat in the U.S. Senate in 2004.
Saying he was a "decent guy" who appeared to be in need of company when he visited the brothel, Maier added unexpected details to a scandal enveloping the first-term Republican.
"As far as the girls coming out after seeing David, all they had was nice things to say. It wasn't all about sex. In fact, he just wanted to have somebody listen to him, you know. And I said his wife must not be listening," Maier said in an interview with The Associated Press.

What a scumbag.
Kinda like when they tell you it's not about the money - - it's about the money.
You can download the entire list of phone numbers from the DC madam’s site here. Apparently the media is only interested in one man so I guess it’s up to us.
There are no names, only numbers but they may offer some clues.

my favorite line in the story was how she said she came forward to help vitter’s reputation.
If this was a democrat he would have democraps defending him.
I’m not interested in finding out who else is on the list. At least not interested enough to do the work myself.
Vitter is just the first among many. And I suspect that some in DC screaming the loudest likely have just as much,or more, to hide.
Glass. Houses. Stones.
You know the drill.
It was only sex ... won’t we hear the democRATs defending him? /sarc
I’m still waiting for the Foley Indictment before I can pay attention to this one.
It's good to keep it in the district, no?
Hey it’s not like he had sex with an intern in the oval office, after all.
you know that unless it’s a cell number, it is relatively easy to back trace who the numbers belong to.
www.superpages.com Just type in the number, and it shows whether it is an unlisted number, and who it belongs to.
My guess to that question would be ===> Uh...nope...I doubt he lasts until Labor Day. Which means the rats pick up a Senate seat.
Legalize prostitution like in Nevada...no crime, ability for taxation, less diseases.
Sex police? With my tax dollars? no thanks.
If there are some 1300 names on the list and a quarter are republicans, the media can concentrate on one republican a week, they could keep this up for months without ever mentioning a democrat.
I don’t know about that.... There’s no accompanying sex scandal on the national front for him to “lead by example” in resignation, and I’m thinking many of the citizens here will be quite angry if he steps down, given that we’ve finally gotten a Republican in the Senate. We have no desire to return, believe me.
Ever Google your own home phone? ...or a friend or relative?
If you ever get a new land line, make sure it is unpublished or Google with have your name and a map to your house.
Keep in mind that sleazoid Flynt has one of his *gentlemen's* clubs in N.O. I'd expect a number of honey traps for zipper-challenged republicans wherever his establishments are located.
This was before he was elected? I don’t see how it matters to me. He asked for forgiveness from all involved and apparently got it.
Move On, so to speak.
All the more reason to use "throwaway" wireless phones.
YO! Louisiana Democrats! By Lousyana standards this doesn't even make a ripple. All this guy has to do for dispensation is switch parties. It's as easy as buying "carbon offsets" to get into where ever liberals go when they die.
That's a little too harsh, don't you think?
Obviously, his wife isn't holding up her end of the contract here.
Some people are running them through OCR software to create a searchable database at http://www.dcphonelist.com/.
His political future is only at risk because of his wasteful spending: had he used the interns-for-free method of the Bent One, he would be regarded as a “great leader” and “it’s only about sex...just move on....” would have been the headline. /sarc
I just checked for my number...I am in the clear.
Obviously, his wife isn’t holding up her end of the contract here.
______________
Please tell me you neglected to close off your comment with a sarcasm tag.
Otherwise, you seem to be accepting, as gospel, the words of the madam, which, always seem to be the same “their wives don’t understand them, so they come to us”.
Well, this explains everything!
I’m sure that William Jefferson, D-Louisiana, was just keeping Vitter’s cash for prostitutes in his freezer, so that Vitter’s wife wouldn’t find it.
Yeah, that’s the ticket, that’s Cold Cash’s defense!
Huh. Foley...Foley...whatever happened to that guy? Funny, judging by the MSM coverage, the Foley issue seemed to drop off the face of the earth on right about Wednesday, November 8, 2006. Imagine that.
Lousiana politician visits brothel. - suprise
In La, they call them rquireed campaign functions.
After all, you got to get to really know your constitiuents.
Wonder how many hands he shook that day.
What do you expect from New Orleans?
LLS
Hey, it's not hard to discover a politicians phone number, cell number, office phone, etc., and call it every now and then for 'phone record' purposes if ever needed in the future for smear.
Dems never have sex, just ask them.....most hermaphrodites don't engage in actual intercourse.....hermaphrodites just have oral sex.
Maier told the Times Picayune she came forward to help Vitter, after seeing the one-dimensional representation of him in the wake of the D.C. Madam announcement.
“I want his wife to see what a wonderful man he is,” she told the Times Picayune. “Men do things like this by peer pressure, by the good ole boys club.
“I want his kids to know he’s a good father,” she continued. “Just because he had sex out of wedlock — so what? At least he stayed with his kids. How many men leave their children and wives and don’t give a s**t what happens to them, and then their wives become prostitutes so they can feed their children?”
IMO, this is just clearing the decks for the DOZENS of Democrats that are on the list.
ALSO....
If they can get one Repub replaced by a Dem, they win the Senate.
Louisiana will NOT love that this happened. Despite what many here seem to think, there are God-fearing conservatives living in the state and for all its reputation of corruption, I would challenge anyone to find a state that is perfect. I could say MANY things about other states with their gun-control issues and other p.c. nonsense. Say what you will about LA, but most of us still use a good bit of common sense down here and a lot of the PC issues that have other states’ officials tying themselves in knots are rejected outright here.
Where's the hypocrisy? Please elaborate.
“In New Orleans it might.”
??????
I’ve never understood paying for that which is free.
“Its not the sex, its the hypocrisy.”
This is what the Democrats always say, and it’s
a very convenient thing for them to say too.
1) It basically is saying that it’s only a ‘wrong thing’ if you say it is wrong => moral relativism.
2) It gets rid of ‘moral values’ leaders who stray and not ‘anti-moral values’ leaders, since anyone who is not is scot-free.
3) They bring it up at convenient times, ie, act shocked if it is a Republican, but then say “it’s a private matter” if its a Democrat, etc.
Louisiana. Half under water, the other half under indictment.
“I guess the only relevant question at this point is: can he hold out long enough for Jindal to win the Governor’s race this Fall and fill his seat with another Republican?
My guess to that question would be ===> Uh...nope...I doubt he lasts until Labor Day. Which means the rats pick up a Senate seat.”
Absolute utter nonsense. There is no reason for him to leave now.
The guy is in the Senate until 2010 and will stay there ... he probably can and will get re-elected too, should he clean up his act. JMHO.
Did I miss the official announcement by the DNC that they are now officially pro-adultery. If not then their guys who get caught are "hypocrites" too.
I agree, WOSG! Getting tired of the Louisiana-bashing, especially given the garbage that goes on in other states: mosques in public schools, gun-control legislation out the wazoo, voters who can’t figure out how voting machines work, etc....
Pathetic!
I found even a cat photo for the word "pathetic" in an image search; if someone has edit capabilities; take the expletive out and it would still be effective.
Edwin Edwards could be reelected as Governor tomorrow... if he were to be able to get out of prison with a pardon... No doubt about it!
LLS
Can't justify his behavior with that rationalization. He broke the law and violated the terms of his marriage... and adultery is adultery, and ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL, as we should all know. No amnesty for this or any other philanderer.
