I am loving it.
I wonder if I would’ve ever thought of this happening back in the 80s. Maybe.
I wonder if a stable, independent Iraq ever emerges...if they were to do the same thing for Bush in the future...gads....that would steam all the old libs of that day.
A free Poland and a strong united Deutchland! Reagan’s challenge to the old troglodytes on the Politburo forced those old men to select Gorbachav. Without Reagan there is no Gorby or Gorbymania. Without Reagan we may, even to this day, be saddled with a Berlin Wall and an Iron curtain.
I am glad you enjoyed the picture my FRiend.
We germans stand on the shoulders of brave men - many are from the US - some are from Poland.
Helmut Kohl once said that his hardest time in office was, when he saw 200 000 peace protestors from his helicoper during the pershingII deployment in germany. To have some guys that hold the course and not to give in to the easy way of making politics - that’s what keeps us free and healthy.
A toast to hard headed politicians - like these extreme tough guys in the picture.
Yes, I raise my glass to the two Helmuts, Kohl and Schmidt. Schmidt probably had the more difficult path, since his party was so rife with green type peaceniks. What did Franz Joseph Strauss of the CSU call them, watermelons, green on the outside and red on the inside.
Just out of curiousity, how do you rate Angela Merkel as Chancellor?
Her campaign was a failure and she’s certainly responsible for some of the mess - she’s lost paul kirchoff - a german tax reformer- if you asked me - the men we were waiting for to start some reagenonomics over here.
Merkel made him explain during her campaign how he’s not going to reform anything and be the deepest reformer ever... so he was stigmatized to be a ‘confuse professor’ and that cost many votes.
Short - her campaign was a mess. Then she increased value added taxes and lowered corporate taxes to both pay off the huge debts we have and to settle some more business. At the moment the economy is recovering from it’s after reunification sleep - that’s due to her ancestors and her politics. In my opinion she proceeds like a cat in the snow - one careful step after the other.
Else she tries to increase German engagement in the WOT without being crushed by the peaceniks. (very good)
The european mastership in poker is definitely hers. She was provoked by the Kaszinskies from Poland (Prime and President) lately but didn’t even flinch. I guess that earned us more image in Europe then the soccer championships.
It all seems to work at the moment - but it’s still a bit lame.
I’ll vote for her again (what else can I do ?) and hope that she’s not in coalition with the left party anymore (it doesn’t seem like it)
I don’t see a German miss thatcher though -but that’s just me.
Here are some pictures taken at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library
This is Ronald Reagan's final resting place.
Paying my final respects to the man that helped change the world for the better.
Should you visit Mr. Reagan again - tell him thank you for giving history a push into the direction of what is right.
All the best to you too !
All the best to you, please keep in touch.
