Recruiting in the West: The Lure of Radical Islamic Terror
Family Security Matters ^ | July 12, 2007 | Dr. Deborah Schurman-Kauflin

Many question why individuals located in or raised in the freedoms of the West would ever want to engage in terrorism. What would make someone who had seen all of the good things freedom has to offer, turn against that freedom? When consulting with and training law enforcement I point out that often, members of terror groups are professional and very well educated. Terror organizations purposely encourage recruits to become learned, particularly in hard sciences, so that they can understand Western technology and use it against the enemy. Every facet of the enemy should be contemplated, absorbed, and repackaged for use by the terror group. Thus, it was not surprising that the latest terror plot in Europe involved doctors. Anyone can be recruited into a terror organization as long as the individual has the right mindset. Whether one is African American, Caucasian, Hispanic, professional or blue collar, male or female, young or old, the terror draw is always dependent upon the individual’s personality.

Simply, the basic concepts for terror motivation include identity and injury.

"Simply, the basic concepts for terror motivation include identity and injury."

Sounds a lot like 'rat strategery.

This is when the question of identity comes into play, and it is vital. Radicals will ask young Muslims who they truly are. Are you an American, or are you Muslim? Are you British, or are you Muslim? Are you Australian, or are you Muslim? It is a presented as an either/or proposition. When questioned with such a dichotomy, it can produce great concern. After all, Islam is viewed as being supreme. Thus, one is expected to be Muslim first and foremost. There should be no hesitance in the answer. Islam identity always comes first. And it is here that the path toward violence begins. When one identifies himself by his religion (and with radicals of that religion), it is a short journey to terrible actions.

And we let them in by the tens of thousands - for diversity and multiculturalism...

I think this is very simple. It seems, more and more today, we see the younger generation wanting everything ....right now. They see the nice cars, homes and all the toys others have and they want it now. They don’t want to really take years to work for these items but condem those that have them. Our school system teaches them this. Everyone is equal, there shouldn’t be winners and loosers. Some take this through life and will do anything to stop others from attaining any type of progress in their lives. Look at the countrys that are in turmoil today. They have nothing other than what other countrys make for them, but they want everything and don’t want to work to get it. Their attitude is one of “Take it” or destroy those that have it.

Remember something called the symbionese liberation front?...If they had been around today they would have joined up. The point is...the rage against the West was evident then on a smaller scale. The danger today is the amount of money on the dark side that can finance the few to do great harm.....

She makes excuses for them. They can’t assimilate because they won’t try and because their ‘religion’ does not encourage it.

When our people came here 80 years ago, they were different too and worked hard to fit in. They did not turn and attack the host for his generosity. If they did not try to fit in, they too would have been poor, backward, hostile and alienated.

Of course, everyone has always known that the ‘alienated’ individual is most prey to fanatic isms of any and every description. How do you think that Hitler had so much influence with Germans, some of the most and best educated Europeans? He taught them first and foremost that they were victims of the ‘stab in the back’ and victims of Versailles treaty signators. Why do you think that adolescents in poor urban areas are so keen to join a gang? Human nature is pretty predictable and very well understood on the matter of alienation, there is NO difference

More 'rat strategery.

She writes:

“Those who are radical in any religion identify themselves first and foremost as members of the religious group. The religion dictates everything, from law to private life. Of note, this is true of all religions. One’s faith and religious obligation are put above everything and everyone, and there is no room for question. ”

This broad is more worried about offending muzzies... than telling the truth. She is in fact denegrating religion in general... in order to promote her half-baked claims.

Islam has been a death-cult since its inception... the only difference now is that it is global.

Dear Dr. Deborah Schurman-Kauflin;

I am sorry to say that you are only partially correct in your analysis.

Islam has been a death-cult since its inception... the only difference now is that it is global.

Islam is a religion that has been spread by war, conquest and tyranny to unbelievers since its inception. OBL, the 9/11 terrorists, the Taliban and even the recent (and unsuccessful) Muslim bombers in the United Kingdom ALL believe they are GOOD Muslims. When the Muslims were killing 300 school children in Beslan, Russia – they believed they were being good Muslims and doing the work of Allah.

Why? Because they are following exactly what the Koran and their “prophet” tells them to do.

There is no point in Islamic history based on peace, or freedom or human rights. It has brought tyranny and misery wherever it has gone. “Peace” only comes when all infidels are murdered or converted or slaves. But then Islam turns on itself – doing to the same to less pious Muslim as it has done to infidels.

“Radical” Islamics today are really just “average” Islamics given the history of the religion.

Regards,

2banana
