No, I didn’t save it; I just get on their web sites, use their forms and let my stream of conscience run away with itself. I told him that a good General plans for victory and not defeat, which is why he should act like a Senator and not a General, and fund the troops and give them his support.

I told him he is turning his face to Meca and his back to America (slightly over the top...but hey, when I start, I keep going), and I told him that he is spitting on my father’s grave (he is burried in Arlington and is a vet of three wars).

And those kind of things, lastly, I told him it is past time for him to retire, that at one point he was a man of stature, but the measure of the man now is non=existent.

Thanks, Laverne, and good for you for laying it on him!

I lived in Virginia until 1996, and my memory of Warner is not as respectful as yours. As a matter of fact, when I think of him, my first thought is always of a bloated Liz Taylor choking on a chicken bone in a Richmond take-out joint. John never recovered from that, as far as I know, and it's been downhill ever since.
