Fred is handling this just exactly right. Just because other candidates on both sides jumped the gun (because their just-out-of-college marketing people told them to “maximize their fund-raising window” by declaring insanely early) doesn’t mean that’s good strategy. Fred will announce when he and his (apparently very savvy) experienced marketing people think he can have momentum without the electorate growing tired of him. He’s playing this masterfully.
