Excellent piece about the parents of LCpl Justine Sharratt intending to call for the censure of john murtha. This is the very least that should happen to the coward, he should be forced to resign from the house and defamation suits filed by every Marine exonerated in this incident.

Red, you are right - What Murtha did was wrong—regardless of the outcome of the judicial process.. But even a democrat controlled house ought to censure Murtha for claiming these Marines were cold-blooded murderers before they were even charged.

Nice thing about this is that the Sharratts are in Blowhard's district - not only did he attack a Marine, he attacked his neighbor.

Every Vet and proud citizen of that state should get behind this and run him out of town.

I wonder what it would cost for billboard space and an ad portraying Murda partying with the pinko girls while Murda-ing the career of a Marine from PA.

There is a site for outdoor advertizing (http://www.magicyellow.com/category/Advertising_Outdoor/-State_PA.html), though I would imagine it would take bigger bucks to get it done, and helping the families with their attorney fees is 100 times more urgent.

Once that's accomplished, I'd put every dollar of political donations for the next election into removing the slimeball.

Why not sue for defamation/libel? I believe Murtha made these statements away from the House floor. If so, I don’t believe he would be entitled to legislative immunity. Ramp up the consequences for this kind of tripe.

4wb - That's a great idea on the billboard. I doubt very many people would know who Code Pink is. A simpler one might just be a picture of him with verbage like...He called our Marines cold-blooded murderers. Call John at ......

SSgt Frank Wuterich has brought a defamation suit against murtha and hopefully more of them will. I don’t know much about this type suit or if it will go forward till the Articles 32’s or courts-martials are completed.

Mutha used his Constitutional RIGHT to make the "Comment" and he did. WHY ASK for an "Apology"?

I'm hoping we can make it happen, Doc. Right now there are 3 Marines accused of murder whose families have had to come up with roughly 3/4 of a milion dollars to defend themselves.

Murtha, in both his capacity as a US Representative and further, on his own on numerous televesion interviews, presented 2 specific charges against the Marines of 3/1 Kilo, the second being that there was a coverup.

As if taking orders directly from Murtha, the Marine Corps has levelled both charges against individual members of that illustrious unit, with 3 charged with murder and 4 charged with other crimes such as dereliction and obstruction, including one of most honorable and recognized battalion commanders in theatre, Lt. Col Chessani, who has just been ordered to stand court martial for what appears to be nothing more than not beginning an investigation/poring over the scene the very same night as the ambushes. I would like to think that anyone in their right mind would realize that to visit the scene of coordinated attacks and ambushes on his own at night - THAT night would be certain suicide, but WTH do I know, I'm not a Marine, much less a NCIS REMF.

All these guys will need help, so the billboard will be a ways down the road, but I just had an idea on bumper stickers that I need to run by RedRover.
