Spain has authorized it’s navy to operate as pirates? Are they holding the crew as hostages? I guess this means any Spanish ship may be taken as reparation since Spain is now an outlaw nation.

The ship’s registered in Panama, so it’s the Panamanian Navy’s problem.

In the Days of Sail it was the English & French primarily who were the pirates & the Spanish who were the prey. Who’s the pirate now, Mr. Spain?

They need to seize Breck Girl’s hair...

That he’d pay to get back!

Dr. Z... you are sure John Edwards likes this?

Yes... his checks come like clockwork!

Not like that Bill Clinton... He won't pay a penny unless I include a free prostate exam.

Why would a Panamanian vessel tell the Spaniards that they were leaving a British port? Spain has no more jurisdiction in Gibraltar than in does in Mexico City, San Juan, or Manila.

Unbelievable. If they had wanted the ship so badly, they should have gotten off their butts and found it themselves. Dirtbag Spaniard politicians....they might even be worse than ours. :)

I usually support Spain over the Poms on these issues, but you have a point.

Brits should give up Gibralter the day the Spaniards give back Ceuta and Melilla.

“Why would a Panamanian vessel tell the Spaniards that they were leaving a British port?”

so that the spaniards would learn that Panamanian vessels can talk and speak spanish, too?

This seems like an ACT OF WAR to me.
They seize our ship, thus, we have every right to bomb the poogies out of their navy with B52s.
I want to see Spanish ships sinking in port.

Exactly..Gutless Spain, afraid of islamo-facists...
I hope the Gold is safely in America, and the Spanish get nothing.

It’s not our ship, it’s Panamanian. If Panama attacked Spain we are bound by the North Atlantic Treaty to come to Spain’s aid.

Of course it might give us an excuse to take the canal back... ;)

ho ho ho ho ho ho

oh come on! Spanish Navy Ships are tied up side by side with American ones in the Combined Air and Naval Base of Rota, in front of Cadiz.

According to the informations published by the Spanish newspaper ELMUNDO. The shipowner of those rescue vessels had a constant flow of GPS data, showing that they did not go very far away from Gibraltar during such plundering tasks.

BTW, to sail out of the British colony, you have to cross over Spanish waters.
