How do satellites detect tunnels? Ground-penetrating radar? All the way from space??

How about just picking up a road that disappears into a hill or mountain? Or a photo shot at an angle enough to see the entrance.

If that were true we could finally see if this a vault under the left paw of the Sphinx in Egypt...
I think it is detecting construction equipment and removal trucks hauling dirt away.

Disturbed dirt leading to and stopping at a straight line. Also, images taken from an angle as opposed to straight down would be able to see the door of the tunnel in addition to evidence of the activity around it.
I doubt the satellite “detected” it. More than likely someone was reviewing photographs like they did way back when to find mass graves... wherever that was. Bosnia? Dunno.
