Bull Shit!
Bush betrayed the conservative grass roots on amnesty, and is paying a higher price for it than anyone expected. The current crop will appoint Constitutionalist judges because it’s in their own self-interest to do so. Appointing another Souter, or even O’Connor, would be self-destructive to them. Even Rudy Giuliani knows this. So, I have confidence that they will be too intimidated to not choose a good nominee.
Do you really believe that?
Praise the powers to be that Rose Bird is dead...
As long as the ragheads are kept busy in the desert where they belong instead of New Hampshire, ballots will rule the day.
When it hits the fan and the ragheads slip in a nuke that takes out DC and most of our congresscritters in the middle of the State of the Union address one day real soon, the ARMY will be in charge and things will get right in a hurry.
Creatures like Patrick will be appropriately dealt with.
“Living Breathing Constitution” types don’t care what American laws mean. These types have been willing to look to UN resolutions and European laws to base their decisions on.
Strong opposition by a big RAT Senate majority led to GOP blunders. If we do keep the White House, expect Schumer and Durbin to block every remotely conservative SC nominee in the hopes that the GOP President will make a mistake.
So much gloom and doom. I’m not ready for that.
Bush’s Supreme Court appointees were a conservative triumph. We are not far from being able to turn back the very worst of the Earl Warren era. We just need one more Constitutionalist apponitee. If one of the liberals leave, I’d even settle for another Anthony Kennedy.
But this highlights the of electing a Republican President in 2008.
"I'd settle" is why there are seven of nine justices appointed by Republicans, and abortion is still "legal."
Good point. But the partial birth abortion ban was upheld, and more such laws will now stand. Things are moving in the right direction.
As I pointed out, Republicans have gotten better at screening judges now.
Won't save a single baby. And Kennedy used the opportunity to deepen the roots of Roe.
