RINOs always draw the exact one hundred and eighty degree out of phase wrong conclusions from any set of facts.

The part I object to is the part about the children. The adults can do what they like, but just don’t involve the children.

I generally agree with you, but when I read the transcript of the actual press conference, Mr. Romney's approach seems different from what the MassResistance kooks are trying to portray. Instead of pushing for the rights of homosexuals to have children, Mr. Romney seems to be saying that homosexuals are going to end up having children one way or another. When they do, there will be some rights for them as for any parent, but there must also be some recognition of responsibilities. Children who grow up in those homes will develop attachments to both partners, and if there is a split, the law should recognize those attachments both for the sake of the partners but more importantly for the sake of the children.

The whole situation is a mess, and I wish we didn't have children in those individual situations. I think Mr. Romney is trying to find a solution that will be practical. Our society is not at a place where we can just remove children from homosexual homes. Mr. Romney seems to recognize this fact and is looking to make the best of a bad situation.

~”Yeah, that’s a problem I have with a number of people who breathe fire over gays.”~

I agree. Every time a thread pops up about the gay agenda, it gets riddles with silly slurs like “poofters” and “fudge-packers.” Poor taste, intellectually lazy, and not representative of the Christian values that most conservatives claim to cherish.

We may not approve of the destructive forces of the gay agenda on our society; but such name-calling is childish and hardly leads to victory in the arena of ideas.

I’m just about ready to start frequenting such threads and denouncing those posters, it irks me so much.

Possibly. Poor kids. I wonder if we shouldn't do more to protect children from such situations?

If you have a good idea of what to do, I’d like to hear it. Breakups are going to be difficult for children whether the parents are heterosexual or homosexual. I wish we could do more to protect them, but I understand that using the power of the government to do anything introduces a different set of dangers.

Protecting children from having to live in such an environment seems a good use of the power of the state. I think laws disallowing children to be “brought” into such relationships are in order.

Carmenker is a liar. Since when have "true conservatives" promoted liars. Not only do the Boy Scouts say the original liberal NewsMax article was false, Carmenker tried to top their lies and misquoted the article. Carmenker repeatedly lies about sources.

SEKULOW ADDRESSES FALSE BOY SCOUT ALLEGATION

Monday, December 11, 2006

I’m sure by now you’ve heard rumors Gov. Romney is not as conservative as he claims. One allegation bothersome to me was the idea that Gov. Romney somehow prevented the Boy Scouts from participating in the Olympics in Salt Lake to make a political statement. Constitutional lawyer Jay Sekulow sent me an e-mail which addresses this issue—which is just one of the many misrepresentations a group called MassResistance is circulating amongst conservatives:

Short Summary - Brian Camenker’s claim in “The Mitt Romney Deception” that “Romney Barred Boy Scouts from public participation in the 2002 Olympics” is entirely false. There are several articles that directly contradict Camenker’s conclusion. NewsMax.com, Camenker’s source, did not even claim that Romney made the decision to bar the Scouts. In fact, Romney, at least at that time, sat on the Boy Scout’s executive board. The Boy Scouts said that the NewsMax article was false. Even NewsMax admitted that the Olympic Committee said that there was an age restriction of 18 years old and up to be a volunteer. There are also inconsistencies in the two NewsMax articles, only one of which is cited by Camenker. There is also some negative treatment of the accuracy of NewsMax.com, but mostly by liberal critics. Since no major media source ran anything about this story, and the local media directly contradicted it, it appears that Camenker’s claim is false.
