July 13, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) The Macleans magazine blog, Capital Diary: Ottawa Outtakes on Ottawa political hijinks, by Mitchel Raphael, presents photos of Canadian politicians joining in Toronto's recent Gay Pride festivities. Politicians participating in these events appears to be increasing, no doubt in large part because of the political and financial clout of the gay movement.
The Capital Diary blog provides an informative log of some of the politicians who have aligned themselves with the gay movement and who would therefore be expected to further gay activist political objectives in exchange for campaign and other political support.
The photos include: - Ontario Progressive Conservative leader John Tory - PC Tory candidate Pamela Taylor who is running against the Liberal's openly homosexual Ontario Health Minister George Smitherman - Liberal Carolyn Bennett - Liberal Bill Graham - Liberal, formerly NDP Bob Rae - Liberal Maria Minna - Liberal Michael Ingatieff - Liberal Mario Silva - NDP Howard Hampton - NDP Peggy Nash - NDP Olivia Chow - Toronto mayor David Miller - Martha Hall Findlay - Tory Senator Nancy Ruth
Also very prominent in the Gay Pride parade was Green Party leader Elizabeth May. The Green Party tossed out condoms with stickers on the green packages stating, "Quit f***kin around, vote Green".

Here is Ontario Health Minister George Smitherman with his fiancé Christopher Pelosa. The two will be married on August 5.
Elizabeth May got pulled in a rickshaw. She had a great view of some things
My wife and I live here in Toronto....I remember that a few years ago Toronto Mayor David Miller also posed in a black leather jacket for the cover of some gay men’s magazine....some politicians will do anything to get that cherished 1% of the voting public, huh?
