By defininition, a “trophy husband” is the husband of a “trophy wife.” She didn’t set out to be the trophy wife of a 7-11 clerk.

I think there's a reason all of Fred's ex-girlfriends think the world of him and are loyal enough to work on his campaign. It may be one of the same reasons he was able to attract and keep a beautiful, intelligent, accomplished woman like Jeri, and make her so obviously happy. I'm not trying to be coarse, but he must be quite a man to do that.
Jeri Kehn Thompson is not a trophy wife because she has had two children with Fred. A real trophy wife is mostly for display, hot sex, spends the rich guy’s money, takes tennis lessons. I don’t see this
Jeri is dolled up with two children, this is more mom than trophy. And since she had the children late this shows honest desire and dedication for children. Fred and Jeri are down home folks with some Washington glitter and glitz sprinkled on top
It would depend on how often those 15 minutes occur!

It comes down to jealousy. Just go read some of the comments posted on various internet forums, and it becomes obvious that it’s the harpies that dislike Thompson’s wife.

Two children make this real. And healthy children’s too as far as I know. Real trophy wife is for sex without any complications such as pregnancy. She will be lunching with vapid girlfriends, will be golfing or taking tennis lessons instead of looking after the children

On a somewhat lighter note, what perchance, would be the male equivalent of a Trophy wife? Indeed, is there one..how would we define the “Trophy Husband?”

I really feel sorry for Dennis Kucinich. His wife Elizabeth is 31 years younger, 6 feet tall and a natural red head, but here we are discussing Fred Thompson.
There’s the liberal media for you. The title of the article alone is offensive. Calling a man’s wife a trophy is offensive. It’s an insult to his wife.
