To: Alas Babylon!
Thanks, AB & Good Morning to EveryOne! Thanks Bahbah for those kind words, I am humbled.

Media want to project President Bush as a lame duck & the Levin, Lugar, Warners as the power houses.

President Bush will veto any and all measures put forth by Congressional Dems to halt the Iraq War, according to a little-noticed letter from the White House just this week,

to Carl Levin, democrat chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Wallace can talk all he want to Levin, treating him like a de-facto war-general. In Reality, all these talks are moot.

NYTimes and Washington Compost can spin anyway they want - MSM (including Fox) gladly would shout them, only to their own peril. While they they have their "anonymous sources", a dozen Conservative Journalists heard the Real Strategery from the Horse's Mouth.

Glad you brought up the President's Conference/Discussion with the ten conservative journalists, it's important to get the truth out once in a while.

Great job anita and congrats last week--# uno.

Not only will the President veto but the “Defeat Now” Democrats do not have the votes in either House of Congress to over ride the veto.

Someone really needs to teach the DC Old Boy’s club how to count votes. 1st Immigration, now this. Both times they fiddle on issues they cannot win while the country burns.

Record gas prices, a slowing economy, taxcuts about to expiere and still our Do Nothing Congress plays stupid partisan games on Iraq.

You would of thought that after spending 5 months on Iraq, and seeing their approval ratings go from around 50% to 19%, even the Democrat party clowns in the US Senate would of wised up by now. They lost this arguement in 2002, 2004, did not even run on it in 2006 and are going to lose it again in 2007.

To: anita; All

I wonder if anyone will have the guts to press Mr. Levin on why exactly he and his fellow Surrendercrats are so invested in the success of the terrorists and the defeat of their own soldiers.

Thank you, Anita, for all that you do. Every week you can be sure that Anita’s posts contain great analysis, and links to wonderful sources of info., such as the NRO article cited here at the bottom of this post.

Contrasting these NRO pieces, Michael Yon’s reports, etc., with the MSM’s “analysis” would lead ANYONE to conclude that there are TWO PARALLEL UNIVERSES at work here: 1) the REAL universe; and 2) the MSM universe. In the real universe, President Bush is CIC, his generals and troops on the ground are winning a tough war, and the American public does NOT want American troops to cut and run. In the parallel universe, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are joint CICs, being advised by such “stalwart heroes” as Carl Levin, Joe Biden, and Jack Murtha.

In the parallel universe, the same “people” would have declared after the Battle of Kasserine Pass that it was hopeless to fight Nazi Germany. In their minds, WWII would have ended in 1943. And in the Pacific, heaven forbid that we do anything to make the Japanese mad at us. It was, after all, America’s fault for being bombed in Pearl Harbor. Right?
