Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress
The Telegraph ^ | July 15, 2007 | Toby Harnden

Posted on 07/15/2007 9:58:56 AM PDT by Xing Daorong

America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.

Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers.

"It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted."

To applause from his audience of 300 members of Atheists for Human Rights, Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box - dismiss you".

Vice-President Dick Cheney's stance of refusing to answer some questions from Congress was "the very definition of totalitarianism, authoritarianism and dictatorship", he added.

Mr Ellison also raised eyebrows by telling his audience: "You'll always find this Muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want."

A convert to Islam who was previously linked to the extremist Nation of Islam, Mr Ellison, 42, has cultivated a moderate image since being elected last November, concentrating on issues such as health and education.

He is an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq. But he angered his own anti-war supporters by voting for a budget bill that aims to end the war over the next 18 months. His followers want an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

After his speech was reported, Mr Ellison said he accepted that Osama bin Laden was responsible for 9/11. But his demagogic comments threaten to plunge him in controversy.

Mark Drake, of the Republican party in Minnesota, said: "To compare the democratically elected leader of the United States of America to Hitler is an absolute moral outrage which trivialises the horrors of Nazi Germany."

“I really don’t know why this has happened although I certainly feel the anger.”

It’s happened because the vast majority of Americans once loved their country and did what was best for it. Today, fewer do. Thus, many of those non-lovers have found that by saying shocking things, and making shocking movies, they can get great media attention and terrific incomes. They’d rather have their incomes than love their country or engage in honest debate. Thus, they have incentive to continue their venomous speech, and due to the supremacy of the “free speech” amendment, the rest of us have to let them do it without knocking their teeth down their throat!

Wonder who this dumbass is blaming for all car bombings going on right now. Surely it has to be Bush since it couldn't be his satanic Muslim brothers.

Maybe this nutjob can join with Obama Osama and form the first Muslip-Mujahideen Coalition of legislators in D.C.

This fellow is obviously not a practicing Muslim in the literal sense (kind of like the non-practicing Catholics and other "Christians" who continue to vote in a very un-Christlike manner) if he believes it is ok to be an Athiest (although if someone makes that decision for themselves, I won't stand in the way - just don't prevent me from telling them about Jesus Christ).

But the fact that he is tied in with Louis Farrakahn and his organization of uber-hate Nation of Islam, tells me that his recent "moderation" would be 100% a political move.

Pushing the line...perhaps someone can qualify...

United States Constitution Article II, Section. 4.

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

United States Constitution Article III, Section. 3

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Democrat Keith Ellison is now officially the first Muslim United States congressman. True to his pledge, he placed his hand on the Quran, the Muslim book of jihad and pledged his allegiance to the United States during his ceremonial swearing-in.

Capitol Hill staff said Ellison's swearing-in photo opportunity drew more media than they had ever seen in the history of the U.S. House. Ellison represents the 5th Congressional District of Minnesota.

The Quran Ellison used was no ordinary book. It once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States and one of America's founding fathers. Ellison borrowed it from the Rare Book Section of the Library of Congress. It was one of the 6,500 Jefferson books archived in the library.

Ellison, who was born in Detroit and converted to Islam while in college, said he chose to use Jefferson's Quran because it showed that "a visionary like Jefferson" believed that wisdom could be gleaned from many sources.

There is no doubt Ellison was right about Jefferson believing wisdom could be "gleaned" from the Muslim Quran. At the time Jefferson owned the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic "Barbary" states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.

The Radical Muslim has been at war with us since 1801.

Jefferson's victory over the Muslims lives on today in the Marine Hymn, with the line, "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our country's battles on the land as on the sea."

Nah, Ellison’s ditrict is a classic gerrymander, might as well be called Moonbat City. Any socialist (that’s the unbowdlerised term for ‘’DFL member’’ wins the seat by winning the ‘Rat nomination. Doesn’t even need to live until election day.

“Why do we even have a Muslim in Congress and why do we have one running for President. This is bizzare.”

Just a few more steps, driven by the left, toward anarchy and loss of an American identity.

“Hey Minnesota, thanks a lot for giving this prick a position in Congress to spew this crap”

History is replete with Minnesota’s cast of characters that have been elected and sent to Washington to represent them. But this guy, he’s un-American and he’s truly dangerous,

Was the volume Ellison used for his mock swearing-in photo op (not the legal swearing-in) a real Koran? I thought the Koran was only in Arabic, and that was merely an English translation of it.

This is from a foreign newspaper--do American papers allow someone to refer to the Nation of Islam as "extremist"?

Hillary once held up a newspaper in the Senate with huge headlines, "Bush Knew" (that is, about 9/11). Democrats routinely refer to Bush as Hitler. Accusing Bush of trying to be a dictator has also become commonplace. I don't think Ellison is much out of the Democrat mainstream.

He just said what most Democrats think, but don’t have the guts to say.”

Perhaps...
But, IMO, Ellison had better clarify who is his beneficiary and get his will up to date.
There is only so much the American people will tolerate.

This isn’t one of the items on my list.
