The way I see it, a career prosecutor who is actually a conservative wouldn’t need a committee to help him figure out what to look for in judges.


Probably true but that isn’t the purpose as I see it. Rather it is to gain larger acceptance among the GOP populace at large during the primary season. Politicans get groups of advisors together to target special segments of the voting public. I see this as nothing more than that. His overall record and proposed policies should be the basis on which he should be judged.
