Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-El Cajon, will be honored by the Marine Corps with its Semper Fidelis award for public service at a black-tie ball tonight.
The award is presented by the Marine Scholarship Ball committee to "individuals who have served their country through public office and epitomize those traits which reflect the highest traditions of the United States Marine Corps and the naval service: honor, integrity, courage, selflessness and leadership," the committee's announcement said.
Hunter, who was an Army officer from 1969 to 1971 and served a combat tour in Vietnam, has worked to increase purchases of ammunition and weapons for the Marine Corps as chairman of the House National Security Committee's procurement panel.
Ping.
They don’t mention he was a Ranger.
It must have been hard for the Marines to honor an Army guy. ;o)
Well how much would the Marines have without Hunter?
