“These anarchists are after nukes and nothing less.”

How do we know that those guarding the nukes are not anarchists, themselves? The situation is getting more precarious by the day.

At least four people have been killed

After reading the headline, I was expecting to hear about many more than that.

“How’s feeding the crocodile working out, Pervez?”

About the same as it’s been working for us the last few decades. Our pet crocodiles might not be as aggressively bloody handed, yet, but their corrosive and degenerative efforts are damaging enough to possibly ensure we never again have the option to stand against a foreign threat.

The Islamists are doing their level best to make everyone inside and outside of their religion hate them.

That's just it -- they don't care. In fact, they actually welcome the conflict because they believe that a) their moon god will protect them and give them victory, no matter the odds, and b) that even if they die in the process, they will become martyrs and reap rewards in paradise.

Given the fact that the typical foot soldier they recruit lives pretty much in hell on earth -- dirt poor, uneducated, sexually repressed, frustrated, and/or abused, and taught nothing but hatred and violence -- it's no wonder that so many opt for abandoning that life for the promise of paradise.

Perhaps there's more to the left's appeasement of Islamicism than simple cowardice or lack of desire to protect Western culture. Perhaps they see in the Islamists the seed for the type and level of control they wish to impose on their own "comrades", and want to leave the Islamists unchecked enough to study them and see how to adapt the methods into their "progressive" worldview/religion.

Just off the phone with Pakistan - they heard about this first from me :-P

The attack was on the Musharraf's opposition - so you can imagine what this is going to do - to Musharraf's stability.

My friends told me that Musharraf has opened the gates to Hell.

At least four people have been killed in a blast at a lawyers' rally in Islamabad, Pakistani police say...

Not going to touch that one.

Yeah, brings to mind the old witticism of someone watching their new car go over a cliff, but their mother-in-law is in it..

As long as many jihadi souls walk through it, it's okay by me.

The Islamists are doing their level best to make everyone inside and outside of their religion hate them.

And I think they're doing it on purpose. I think they're really focusing on the "outside" folks -- the idea being to foment a worldwide religious war: Islam vs. everybody else.

The "inside" part of the strategy is more subtle, and quite clever. Specifically, they know that if the "outside" strategy works, they'll have most Islamic people behind them. But they dont -- and won't -- control the governments of Islamic countries, and they need to do that in order to create their caliphate.

And so they're also setting themselves up against the likes of Musharraf, creating a "strategic civil war," of the governments vs. the salamikazes.

And then, when their "outside" strategy works and the war begins, they can blame the government for playing along with the infidels, and gain control by a series of revolutions.

Pretty smart, actually, in an insane sort of way.

No, it is because of the Red Mosque. Pakistan needs to get rid of the Wahabists.

This is obviously George Bush’s fault. Ya know if we weren’t in the Middle East to begin with, none of this would be happening. /sarc.Well if we were not in the Middle East we might not care. This kind of stuff is going on in Nigeria. And Indonesia. And Malaysia. And in none of those places do we really give a damn.

Being able to not give-a-damn is a nice thing.
