Cindy's Press Release for Monday:

Cindy Sheehan to Lead March for Impeachment, Arlington to Capitol Hill, July 23rd

Congressional Campaign Announcement Possible

WASHINGTON — JULY 18 —

WHAT: March from Arlington National Cemetery to the Capitol Hill Office of Congressman John Conyers to ask him to begin impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney or President George W. Bush or both. Participants hope to meet with Congressman Conyers and receive his assurance that impeachment proceedings will begin at once in the House Judiciary Committee, which he chairs. Many of those participating have commited to only leave if Conyers agrees to begin impeachment or they are arrested.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been the driving force against impeachment in Congress. If there is no agreement to begin impeachment proceedings by Monday, Sheehan will announce her candidacy challenging Pelosi for election in California's 8th Congressional District.

WHO: Cindy Sheehan, mother of Casey Sheehan, KIA in Iraq 2004, founder of Gold Star Families for Peace and of the Camp Casey Peace Institute; Ray McGovern, 27-year veteran of the CIA and cofounder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity; Rev. Lennox Yearwood, President of the Hip Hop Caucus; Ann Wright, retired U.S. Army Colonel and diplomat who resigned in protest the day the U.S. invaded Iraq; Debra Sweet, national coordinator of the World Can't Wait; Dave Lindorff, author of "The Case for Impeachment," David Swanson, cofounder of AfterDowningStreet.org; Jodie Evans and Medea Benjamin, both cofounders of Code Pink; Kevin Zeese, director of Democracy Rising; Tina Richards, military mother and creator of GrassRootsAmerica4Us; and many many others.

WHEN AND WHERE:10:00 a.m. gathering outside the Arlington National Cemetery metro stop. Cindy Sheehan will make remarks.

10:30 a.m. beginning march to Capitol Hill, to 2426 Rayburn House Office Building, office of Chairman John Conyers.

12:00 p.m. noon – approximate arrival time.
"We have the deepest respect for Chairman John Conyers," Sheehan said, "and I'm glad he's the one who will lead the impeachment hearings. But time is wasting and people are dying every day that he holds off. The majority of Americans want Dick Cheney impeached. We are bringing that message to the chairman of the judiciary committee of our house of representatives. It is our house, the house of American citizens, and any representatives currently serving there who disagree should be challenged in the next election." ###

Still wondering if the march will go down by the Wall. Is there a march route with the Park Service?

Thank you. Cannot be there. Thank you all for being there. We need a march to impeach the Democrats in Congress - plus some RINO’s!

Whatever happened to her walk from Crawford to Washington starting on July 13?

Probably like her hunger strike, she decided eating a tub of Ben & Jerry's was more fun.

Looks like Cindy's pledge to go away was just as good as mine!

Some brighten a room by entering, some by leaving...there's a Silverback in every Sheehan cloud.

Slap her until the ugly comes off, DC Chapter!

"Beauty is only skin-deep but ugly goes clean to the bone" is not quite correct...the ugly is from the soul. This Sheehan individual desperately needs a miracle inside, as do many. Prayers up...meanwhile, we are to answer an unGodly fool as his/her folly befits and to speak out for those who have no voice.(Proverbs).

I believe some folks on FR have done so (at least at counter protests to Cindy's nonsense). I do know that after much pressure, Cindy FINALLY bought a stone for his grave. The only good thing she's done since Casey gave his life for his friends, and that was only because she was shamed into it.

The lefties have (re)set their gathering time to 9:30am at the Arlington Metro stop.

Perhaps we should arrive earlier?

Re-pinging the DC Chapter... you are much needed on Monday morning, if you can get away from your jobs with HalliburtonBechtelBlackwaterEtc.

I recently read an article, can’t remember where, but must have been a link from some thread on FR, that said Casey Sheehan was strongly religious and wanted to be a Chaplain’s Assistant. Since there was a waiting list, he joined the infantry. He often led prayers when no chaplain was available. It was just after he had left Mass on Palm Sunday, that he volunteered for the mission to go into Sadr City to recover pinned down (or dead) troops.

Casey went directly to heaven, I am sure, and yet his mother acts like an instrument of the other.

"Who is her new source of funding?"

Good question. I think we're all wondering that.
