“There were no Jews or agnostics in my town or if there were no one knew about it.”

Well there were certainly some in mine. Where the heck did you grow up? The Finks, the Katzmans, the Hackermans, the Feldbergs, the Eberts, and others were most certainly Jewish. Is that a bad thing?

And exactly how do you know that nobody was agnostic? I seriously doubt they would have declared it back then.

Sorry, I have never heard of those names. My part of the state were settled way back in the 1840’s by Christian people from Scotland, England, Ireland, etc. Every family I knew went to church on Wed. night and Sunday morning and in most cases, Sunday night. I did not say anything about Jewish being wrong only that there were not any in my small town. We only had one or two Catholic families. On Friday, back then they could not eat meat on Fridays so we had fish on that day. It was not a big deal. We knew they could not do that so we ate what they could eat. We knew about most people way back then because we were related to most of them or had relatives related to the others. My dad happened to know nearly everyone in the whole county and in some surrounding ones. That is why I grew up going to as many different churches as were in the county. If a friend or relative invited us to come to their church, we went. You might say, we did not discriminate against any of them. I loved growing up in a small Southern town where it was safe to go anywhere or stay out in the daytime as kids without our parents worrying about us. That is not to say that the teens did not pull pranks. One time some teenage boys got together and put a car on top of the school. I have no idea how they did that but they did. Another time, they stole a car and pushed it down in a ravine. The only problem was that an adult saw them and told their parents. One of my brothers was involved in that. I do not remember what happened to them. I treasure my growing up years and have many fond memories of that time. You are pretending that I said something when I did not.
