I have thought for a long time that the candidates for both the Republican and RAT parties would be “dark horses”. The 2008 campaign started WAY too early, and these candidates will fade, due to voter fatigue. If others are like me, I am sick of seeing and hearing all of them, 24-7. Thompson is smart not announcing, just going along, keeping under the radar for a few more months, then peaking when it will be advantageous. I would never say that Algore is smart, but he is playing the waiting game, too — his way.

It started in 2005. That’s a problem our country needs to fix. If a president is struggling, like our president is now, we don’t need to undercut him further by having people announce six months into his second term that they intend to replace him.
